I had today off and relaxed. Here is the update in blurb fashion -

-I rented the movie The Master - which is loosely based on the life of L Ron Hubbard and the early days of Scientology/Dianetics. This is one of my pet interests right now. I am reading books on Scientology - exposing its real nature and find the whole thing very fascinating. Apologies to anyone who follows this "religion". I find it really farcical and more like science fiction than a religion. I cannot relate to it really but on an academic level and its history shows how vulnerable people really are to hypnosis and external influences. The "religion" was designed to make money first and foremost, no mistaking that. Anyways - it all makes interesting study from an objective view and it is surprising how many celebrities are into it. That was part of their strategy too and they actively recruited prominent people. Huh.
-I went to the doctor today. I felt like I had a UTI or bladder thing going on. I won't have conclusive results on my test on that until Saturday. Best to err on the side of caution where these things go.
-Teddy is a love. I can hear him purr from across the room. LOL.
-I changed my layout to one of my old favorites. Love this one. I was not feeling the other one.

Cheers to you and hope you are having a good week.

Do be dooo. Let's see if I can summon some blurbs. These will range from the gross to the mundane to the whatever.

-Teddy had a hairball today. His first here. Gross.
-I got a manicure - pedicure today. Clear on my toes because I could not visualize a color there and felt that meant "no color" was what would work. It looks pretty good. I just wanted to have my feet done. I got grey for the manicure.
-Work is work, na na na na na. I am getting things done. My events went well. I applied for a different job (don't mention that on FB).
-Tomorrow I am going walking and for coffee.

That is all I have. I thought I should post and let you know I am alive. :P Cheers.

So I am posting my Thanksgiving greeting early. My friend R*** gets here tonight from Las Vegas and I will be hanging with friends here for the gobble gobble. I have been off this week for vacation. Got my nails done today - french manicure on my hands and purple toes. I have to lay off the computer so I am using this week to just take it easy on things and try and get my shoulder in shape. I got some bad news at the chiropractor. The injury has expanded to the chest area from the shoulder and it hurts to be on the computer at home. My set up here is not very ergonomic and I have to make some changes here so that improves.

I got my house cleaned here too. That was a big deal. I was having trouble lifting due to the injury and also wanted to treat myself to a good deep clean. Well, I am going to work this into my monthly budget. I thought I could clean but I really never got my place THIS clean. My bathtub sparkles, no cat here and it is so shiny here. This is money well spent. My friend J*** was the hook up on this one and I am thrilled with the outcome. Totally great!

Anyhoo. I hope that everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a great time. Enjoy the feasting, family and fun!

Cheers to all!

I am glad it is Friday. I am pretty much dealing with daily pain right now and I have issues with my upper and lower back. To quote my chiropractor - my back is a mess. I should rest off the computer so I am going to try and take more time off from graphics and really recuperate. It feels better when I relax so I better do that.

My raise came through on my paycheck and that was a nice bump up there. Yahoo.

I am playing with layouts in dreamwidth and cannot find one that allows a header. Does anyone know one that you can customize on there? Leave me a comment if you know of one.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Cheers.

So here is the weekend update. I finally cleaned my bathroom and that was good. I am cleaning challenged right now and am able to do my daily chores but not the real clean. I will get it eventually. I just cannot get that vacuum out and do the deep clean. Having trouble with that. I need to, just don't feel like it. Honestly don't want to. It is a little dusty in here, I have to admit. Ugh.

I got a new shower curtain and rug for my bathroom and am redecorating that. Really lovely designed one and a blue rug. Totally excited about that. I think it will look cool. I think it all matches the paint on the wall and all that so cool. Minimal investment and that room will look much better.

Today I am going to the movie Argo - it is about Iran and the hostage crisis there in the 70's, starring Ben Affleck. I am really looking forward to this one and have been for a while. A friend of mine is taking me for my birthday treat. We have a little birthday tradition going on for that. So fun. We get cupcakes and popcorn from Trader Joe's and make a whole day of it. Yays!

My mom's cat passed away this week. Wyeth was 19 and a big Maine Coon. He was a bit neurotic but a gorgeous cat. My mom is pretty sad about that but had to make the decision based on his health situation. That is how it goes. Boo has to go in for tests in a few weeks. Will see how she is doing on her CRF and renal stuff. She sleeps a lot but is eating fine and seems ok. Chugging along there. I am prepared for all eventualities.

Anyhoo. Sunday posting it up. Thank you to Sian265 for the lovely v-gift for my birthday and hope you are all having a good weekend!

On the debate...
So I watched Face the Nation today and my conclusion is that it is easy to win a debate when you are not truthful and play fast and loose with the facts. Yes, Obama was off but Romney lied. So he gets to call it a win when he out and out lied to the American public there? Go figure. Even the political commentary admits, he lied but he still wins the debate. I don't get it but this is America. That is how it goes. The debate did not change anything for me. My vote still goes the right way. There are more opportunities coming up and I hope that Americans are smarter than Romney thinks they are. I really do. The moderation, much as I like Jim Lehrer, was not strong enough to keep them on format and really was bad. He got totally rolled over and could not keep them contained. Neither candidate respected the rules of that debate.

In other news - I am doing a mini-spa day - getting a mani-pedi and my hair done. Boy do I need this. My grey is showing and I am looking forward to some pampering of me. Yay.

That is all I have. I am looking forward to Monday off for my birthday. I might chuck all my plans and relax - not sure yet. I will see. Tonight is a movie night - I think we are going to see End of Watch - which could be disturbing.

Anyhoo. Cheers to you!

I am spending Sunday in my jammies, thinking about making heggs and toast - catching old movies on the DISH and getting creative in a graphical sense. Fun. I need some time to unwind and not have a schedule so this is what I choose to do. Yays! Free day. I love free time.

I did not order my pizza on Friday so I might do that tonight though I do have a frozen one in the fridge I can cook. Pizza is in my future in some manner. I am thinking.

Hope you are having a good Sunday and enjoying yourself. Cheers. :)

Here it is,the update:
-my reclass passed the union phase so I forwarded that email to my supervisor and HR person and asked for a big fat raise. Yes I did. Moving right along and give me my money.
-my car crapped out last night. Click when trying to start it so I knew it was the starter. I needed to have the mirror fixed too. Bleeding money but got it all fixed today and it is running great. Needs more work and have to think about that. Might get a new car if I get my money.
-event tomorrow. Cannot wait until this is over.
-planning time with friends in August. Kind of a reunion.
-vacation in September and no plan for that. Unstructured time makes me nervous. No spreadsheet! Ahhhhhh. Will just wing it. Go with the flow? Ha.
-people at work are driving me crazy. I definitely need a vacation. My co-worker pulling shitty moves that are somewhat unethical. We will see about that!

This post is longer than I planned. Anyways. Hope you are well and having a good week.

Here is the update in blurb fashion.

-Had a really good time in Los Angeles. My brother and his wife had a 50-50-20 Party in Santa Monica. They both turned 50 this year and celebrated their 20 year anniversary. Totally fun party with really good food and dancing at Shutters By the Bay. Bayside views and food which was so much better than any hotel food I have had. Yum.

-It was a long drive there and back. We road tripped it - me and my SILs brother - and lord, that is a long a** drive through some hot country. I am still tired and he did all the driving. Central Valley is HOT as Hades.

-I had a really nice dinner with [livejournal.com profile] aglarien1 at Dinah's Diner near my hotel. We gabbed and ate good food and gabbed some more. Loads of fun. She is made of awesome.

-Work, people are ticking me off. Event next week and I am working with these two people that send emails for every little thought in their head and they are just - well no boundaries people. I ask for something one way and get it well, not how I needed it. I asked for it this way no less than three times. Anyway - life is a project and I cannot wait until this program is over. It is really hard to work when active dislike is engaged. I have to rise above and be professional. I will.

-I am thinking about a vacation in September. Can I afford this? [livejournal.com profile] khylea might come here to do some local sites and fun things. I think we can make it affordable and I have not had any time off really so I could use a vacation. In the works.

Long blurbs and that is all for now. I don't have any pictures because I did not take any. No digital sharing on this post.

Cheers to you and hope you are having a good week.

I am going to see Ted tonight. I am very excited about this film. I am a big fan of Marky Mark Wahlberg and think this will be a raunchy romp and full of laughs. I am going out to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant down in Emeryville, Casa Poblana and plan on having a nice big meal.

I took little Ms Thing (the boo cat) to get a feline manicure today. Her nails were terribly long and she was catching on everything. So I found a place that will cut her nails for 10.00 and even though she growls a bit - the guy there is so quick with the clippers - she gets one hiss out and she is like done. Zippety doo da. All done and back in the carrier. I wish I could do it that fast but I can't. Anyhoo. It is much better and she won't hurt me or catch herself on everything here. She has recovered from the trip in the car so that is good.

That is all I have. I posted graphics offers at [livejournal.com profile] enchantedrealms and [livejournal.com profile] juicy_grapes. Feel free to check those out.

Also - we are looking for graphics makers at [livejournal.com profile] enchantedrealms so if you lean that way and are interested in a fantasy-oriented kind of thing, leave me a note or check out that comm. It is a very relaxed place with great members. No stress, no fuss. Lots of fun. You can leave me a note if you know of someone too. I am looking for people who do icons, blinkies, siggies and stuff like that. Any of those is good.

Cheers to you all!

Right out of the oven. I kid you not. I bought the pie right out of the oven. It smelled and looked so good. A mini pie and I am thinking I can mash it up and eat it that way. But pie is soft so I should be able to eat it in reasonable bites. I am sure going to enjoy that. I got quiche for dinner too. I am living.

The pain is a bit diminished today. Still there but handled easily by the ibu and half a vicodin and sometimes just the ibu. But I woke up feeling that it was less today so that is good. I had a low key day today, napped and watched Criminal Minds on the TV. All repeats but I love that show. My brother called from the East Coast and we are playing telephone tag but I hope to have a chat with him tonight.

All is well and I am thinking I might need tomorrow off. I am just too much of a wimp to work in pain tomorrow. I am not going to do that. So will see how I do. Anyhoo.

Happy 4th of July to all and cheers to all there.

Here it is Sunday and I have a selection for the Bunday posting. A nice shot of the whole body here and he is nice looking.

*Not safe for work!*

This is Chad White... )

Anyways. Having a good weekend. Relaxing and saw a movie last night (see previous post of movie review). Today, I will likely do some laundry and get my food shopping done. I might also take a walk and get some exercise. See how that goes. I have to finish a dental procedure this week (root canal) so that is not exciting and I have a board meeting for work. Busy as usual and etc.

Hope you are having a good weekend.

-Got manicure

So it is raining here which seems as much of an occasion to post as any, eh? I got some things done today, let me list them for you:

-cleaned the bathroom
-changed the bed
-vacuumed the bedroom
-vacuumed the hall area
-two loads of laundry done

I am still not done with my chores but significant progress was made.

Tonight I am going to see The Hunger Games. Very excited about it. I bought advance tickets at the AMC and look forward to it. I saw one review and it got a good review, not that I really pay attention to those. I am intrigued by the plot line, gaming atmosphere, hunting thing and futurama elements of it. Alternate universe etcetera. Looks interesting. Let's see if it holds together. I will post an update on that, sans spoilers.

That is all I have. Might do a bunday post if I can find something good for it. Hope you are having a good weekend and all that. Be well!

Ok, I am the pillar! )

Here is a quick movie review for 21 Jump Street - Channing Tatum, gorgeous and has comedic timing, WHO KNEW? He totally is funny. I think he has been wasted acting as romantic hero, sappy parts. He rocked this in the comedy bit - physical comedy and witty stuff. He is my new favorite actor. I could not believe it. Jonah Hill, now thinner, and usually funny, no surprise there, but Channing Tatum, totally nailed. this. The premise is the same as the old TV show of the same name - cops go under cover in a high school, this one has a drug related plot. Surprise cameo role here, not giving that away. Just wait for it. If you want to laugh, see this one. Potty humor and clever humor in this one.

Other news...
-my friend's retirement party yesterday was totally special, complete with aerial dance, singers and really nice people. Excellent food (by my caterer - I gave her that) and it looked lovely in a yoga studio. Elegantly set buffet.
-hair and nails done today. I feel all together now. Toe nails - dark pink, finger nails - light pink. Looks good. I got some hair stuff at the beauty supply and got a nice discount on a cashmere sweater too, score!

Hope you all had a nice St Patrick's Day and a good weekend.

This was a fun week. Here is what happened in blurb format because I can barely formulate sentences.

-worked very hard and got a lot accomplished.
-went to see Beach Blanket Babylon, SF's longest musical review. Very funny, very bling and lots of big hair and funny costumes. Loved it!
-I road the SF cable cars, twice, on the same night. that is always a thrill. The guys who work them are totally cool. I also took BART too. I love taking BART. Public transportation, right on!

This weekend I have things to do, as follows:
-party to go to tomorrow
-movie to go to tomorrow night
-hair and nails on Sunday

So that is my status report. Quick like. Hope you are well and have a good weekend.

Tidied the house today. This is a major victory as I have not been motivated to do that. The only thing I did not do was make the bed because Ms Thing was lying right in the middle of it and I did not have the heart to move her from her comfy spot. Yes, I prefer the bed made but she looked really comfy there and all. Dare not anger the cat.

I am going to the movies tonight and tomorrow. Here is the line up:

Tonight - John Carter - sci fi epic
Tomorrow - Act of Valor - battle glory of Navy Seals

Looking forward to both of them. This afternoon I am getting laundry done and food shopping. Sometimes I feel like I spend most of my weekend doing chores but that is how it is some times.

On the fan fic front - if you are not reading the Big Bangs by keiliss and chaotic_binky, I suggest you do. They are posting them serial style on their journals. I enjoy each installation in these very creative, long pieces. Total enjoyment. Get your fan fic on and have a look at these.

Anyhoo. This is the state of me and hope you are well and having a good weekend. Work has some issues that I don't care to go into. Difficulties. Anyhoo. I will post on that and bore you with that later.

Cheers!
