It's a long weekend this weekend here in the US - President's Weekend and I really feel like I need the extra time off. I just need to decompress here and chill. I want to cook and read and do some things here at home. I know I am always at home right now but that is where I am at and how I am feeling. I just like the idea of having an extra day off this weekend. Yay.

I had to stop watching the impeachment - the second one for Donald Trump. It was like reliving a trauma. They kept showing the footage and new footage for the Capitol thing and I just could not watch that. I got updates on it and I know they made their case but I just could not go through that again. I don't know what will ultimately happen but he deserves to be convicted for his actions there. I do believe that. Anyway - we will see what happens there.

I have laundry to do today and some chores to do so I will get that done and maybe go for a walk later. Hope to do that. Today is nice out and then we have rain coming tomorrow so I think I should get out today and hunker down for the rest of the weekend.

So that is all I have and hope you are well there. Stay healthy!

So it is raining here which seems as much of an occasion to post as any, eh? I got some things done today, let me list them for you:

-cleaned the bathroom
-changed the bed
-vacuumed the bedroom
-vacuumed the hall area
-two loads of laundry done

I am still not done with my chores but significant progress was made.

Tonight I am going to see The Hunger Games. Very excited about it. I bought advance tickets at the AMC and look forward to it. I saw one review and it got a good review, not that I really pay attention to those. I am intrigued by the plot line, gaming atmosphere, hunting thing and futurama elements of it. Alternate universe etcetera. Looks interesting. Let's see if it holds together. I will post an update on that, sans spoilers.

That is all I have. Might do a bunday post if I can find something good for it. Hope you are having a good weekend and all that. Be well!

I think that part of celebrating the Sabbath is preparing for it. I had a fun conversation with my friend B**** at work this week, an Israeli Jew. It is all in the organization of it and being prepared for Shabbos. He gave me some recommendations on bakeries, places to get kosher wine etc. He does his preparations on Friday before sundown as he has that day off. I will get ready on Thursday nights as I have to work until 4pm on Fridays.

Tonight I did a general tidy and clean of the place. I think that cleanliness is important to this ritual. I vacuumed, did all the dishes, cleaned the bathroom, put things away..etc. I think the idea is having very little to do that is "work" on the Sabbath. I did my laundry earlier in the week and have picked up all my stuff at the dry cleaners. I think I can food shop on the way home and be done with that before sundown tomorrow. Ya.

It is kind of fun planning this and it also means that I will not spend my weekend doing chores and cleaning my house. Kind of cool that. My chores are done now. This works for me. I really hate that my whole weekend ends up about working around the house.

I also was looking at activities you are supposed to do on the Sabbath and this one intrigued me:

Taking Shabbat naps

I can totally get into that!

Cheers and hope you week is going well.

So for this week, I have another photo from the same set as last week. This is Joseph Sayer and it is a motion shot. I really like this model so I thought we could enjoy him for one week more. This is from We Love Guys.

Yesterday I spent the day with my work chums, D*** and R***. We went to see This Is It, the release of Michael Jackson's rehearsal segments from his last tour. I have to say it was a really interesting glimpse into his profession ethic and made his death all the more tragic for me. It showed how much we have lost there. He was a consummate professional with a real vision and message to send the world there. He was re-envisioning his work in some ways. I was also really glad for the dancers, musicians and vocalists hired to work with him that this was released. Their performances are seen here and they were outstanding. The music here is great and Michael Jackson is wonderful even not performing at full concert level. So if you like him at all, you should see this movie.

After that we went to the Elephant Bar which I had never been too. It was a nice change from our usual and I really enjoyed the food there.

Today is cleaning and chores day. I have laundry in my future and will be going to the Farmer's Market before that. Stuff to do. Hope everyone had a good, safe holiday.

Cheers.
