So it has gotten to the point where I have to moderate my news intake for my own well-being. Too much and I get totally stressed out. Just cannot do it. I guess I am a worrier by nature and it really bothers me. Plus the news cycle if pretty repetitive so they go over the same thing over and over again. Just cannot do it. I am trying to only watch one hour a day and really stick to that. It is enough really to get the sense of what is going on. I read updates fine - that does not stress me out but watching the news cycle totally stresses me out.

I found a new show on Netflix that I really like - this thing Bridgerton. It is based on the Regency romance novels by Julia Quinn - I used to read those. This show is delightful. About that marriage frenzy of the Ton in England. Just eating it up. I love the costumes, the diversity of the casting and all that. It is all fluff and I am really in the mood for this kind of escapist thing right now. I hope they do the whole family in multiple seasons - there were a lot of books so there is a lot of material for a pretty long running show. I can only hope they stick with it.

I also need to finish The Boys on Amazon - I kind of spoiled myself by looking up what happened with it online so it is not an urgent thing for me. I do that sometimes - cannot wait for the ending so I read about it online - hence spoiling myself. It is a really bad habit. I do want to watch the whole thing with this one because it is an excellent production and I love Karl Urban in it.

Today is not a Snowflake Challenge day so nothing on that today. I have not been writing. I am not stuck - I am in a good spot with the story - just have not opened it in a while. I better look up the deadline and start working towards that. Best not forget there is a deadline.

That is all - hope you are well - where you are. Stay healthy and stay safe.

That I feel compelled to watch a TV show but here I am tuning in to watch Once Upon a Time to see the very dramatic epi tonight. I really like this show. At first, I was not into this season and really preferred the first season but this one is growing on me. It has elements of the first season and is deepening the family relationships that they have. I am definitely following this one. I love the characters and how they weave the backstories into each episode. It is very good story telling.

Last night I saw Oz, the Great and Powerful and here is my comment on it from FB:

Saw Oz, Great and etc tonight. Aside from one questionable costume decision, I really enjoyed the movie and found it a gorgeous production. It was fun to play with the possibilities for the pre-Dorothy time there and fill in the blanks. One plausible Oz.

Anyways. That is all I have. Quiet weekend. Did some reading and lounged. Had some Mexican food last night. Hope you all had a really great weekend.

Cheers!

A detective who is a neuroscientist. Interesting premise for a show. I like the actor who is starring in this. His name escapes but I recognize him from other things. Anyhoo. I am intrigued enough to watch the first one. This looks quirky but that could get annoying fast. Will see.

Professional poker.

Who watches this? I am sorry if you do but this is the most boring thing I have ever seen. Caught it accidentally and total snore. Up there with Comicon coverage on cable.

Disclaimer:
Apologies to any poker fans on my flist. I mean no offense. This is my personal opinion and mine only! I love playing poker but watching it on TV is something else!

But I laugh every time I see one of their back to school spots. These ads are so funny! Anyone else think so? Here is the one with the PE teacher. "Your kids are gonna climb rope!" So funny!

Then there is the one with the music teacher. Also cracks me up! "Denim!"

Here is the second grade teacher. "So much glitter!"

That is all the ones I have seen in this ad campaign. Good for a share.

For this season of True Blood --- I find that I am wishing that the witch succeeds in her aim. I don't know if that is what they intend but really - I am not finding the vamps very sympathetic and I really want the witch to win.

Tomorrow I have the day off. Woot. And we are going to the waterpark -- Raging Waters. My friend J*** and I are taking the high school kiddos so they can run around and we are going to hang out in the kabana and float in the river. Very exciting. Very!

I am lame and have not posted my vacation pics. They are all formatted. All I can say is I am lame. I will try for that this weekend.

My other thought of the day is that my new guilty pleasure is Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on BBC. I tell you..I just love him. I will never look at a restaurant the same way again. He is a bastard but he is FAIR and he knows his stuff. He is one of those mercurially brilliant people. I also just love how he just does not deal with BS. He just does not. I serve food for a living as well and some things on this show are just well, scary. I really enjoy also, seeing the establishments turn around and swing back to success. It is a real transformation. The bottom line is that Ramsay really does care about what he does...so I like this guy. His food sense is amazing. Really is.

That is all for me. I could not sleep well last night. Tried to fall asleep, lots on my mind and just stared at the ceiling of my room. So I got up and did some cleaning until I felt tired. Sometimes it just goes that way. Usually I sleep like a light and it is the rare night that I don't get 7-8 hours. So it was odd.

So hope you all are well and I owe you pics. I am on it!

Last thought -- I finished 40 days on my 40 day yoga challenge thing (11minuteyoga). I am going to keep going so actually I have done 41 days. I really like doing my daily set. It is centering and relaxing.

Say Yes to the Dress. I am a TLC addict. I tell ya. I love watching those girls trying on the wedding dresses and that whole buying process. And why is that? I have never even been engaged. La. I just love it. That and Four Weddings...that is all about the event planning. I just pick those apart...totally. Here is a hint for anyone planning a wedding (this will save you money)--don't call the wedding, a wedding--have a party and you will save big -- rental goes down and just about everything goes down. I know people who have done this and saved big. A wedding that is not a wedding. Yeah.

I booked my flight for my summer trip home to New England. I am very excited. Cow Hampshire here I come (that is New Hampshire for those not familiar)...Live Free or Die! My brother is going off to the war effort in September and it is very important to me that I see him before he goes. That is the primary reason for my visit. I will see my oldest friend in the whole world Moey. We have been friends since we were 6 years old, like this (fingers crossed). I am very excited. My only requirement for the trip is that I have some form of lobster...fresh lobster, lobster roll...lobster. :P Yays. I got a good deal on airfare once I figured out that I should fly mid-week rather than weekend-weekend. That cut 200.00 right off my fare. Yayus.

I was bemoaning my lack of fictional productivity this year and realized I have this story and it is like 22 pages long! So I looked at it and whoa, it is not bad...in fact...it made me laugh when I read it. So I am going to work on this one. I have the Prologue and three chapters done and it is an amusing lark of a tale. So I vow daily writing to work on this one Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aglarien1 in advance for your beta help.

Well lookie here. This was an update. Happy Friday all.

This show on TLC...What Not To Wear. I find the hosts (Stacey and Clinton) witty and hilarious and the transformations are truly astounding at times. If you don't know what it is about --A friend nominates someone for the show for a fashion make over and usually that person is challenged in their wardrobe and style. The consultants give the person a 5k budget and advise them on how to redo their whole wardrobe and style. They also go through their old wardrobe in a slash and burn manner, usually tossing the whole thing and analyzing where they went wrong. They do hair and make up with this too and usually in ways that the person can maintain themselves...not outrageously hard to do things.

Usually miracles happen and the results are just amazing. I guess this appeals to the fashionista in me. Not that my style is anything great but I do get ideas from this.

The improvement in people's lives is pretty good here. My friends and I have decided to nominate each other for this. I will nominate J*** and M**** and J*** will nominate me. :P He he he.
