SV II Here I go again!

I have a nice little story here. It is totally manageable. Light, heroic. One elf is a little too full of himself but hey, he has an ego. He always has an ego or a "strong sense of himself" as written. Guess who I am talking about! I dare you!

Anyway...fun is had. I have a very rough draft working and sketchy details out to a very shaky ending. I need to flesh this out and then get this to my very patient beta keiliss.

Anyhoo. I have some shaping to do and my hope is by the end of this week to have it ready to go to her.

Worthy goals. Worthy and doable. Trala! Word count is just shy of 3000 words.

I have finished the first pass on my SV story! *throws confetti* I think it still needs some fine tuning but it is basically done and it has reached the 5k mark on the word count. I am going to edit this over the next few days and send that off to beta.

Victory!

In other news - sick still - stayed home today. Going to the doctor tomorrow. Ugh.

Get a move on Tolkien fan fic writers...

...it is time to sign up for the My Slashy Valentine fic swap. This has been taken over by the very capable red_lasbelin who is running on a very tight time table this year, so there is only one week to get your requests in for that fic you have always wanted. Once you sign up, you will also be asked to write a fic. That is right...it is a fic exchange. You don't get to know who is writing for you until the unveiling (and vice versa). That is the fun part.

I have finished my Slashy Valentine story. All 11,000 words of it. The story was supposed to be 5 pages. It did not cooperate. I am pleased with the outcome and turned the ending into something that I absolutely love.

I edited it and sent it off to my beta this morning.

I am so happy about that. I will make my extended deadline and have a completely finished story for this!

Woot.

Have you always wanted to read a certain pairing or scenario, but couldn’t write it yourself? Or have a plot bunny that’s been rolling around in your mind, but just can’t see yourself writing that particular story?

Have it written for you – specifically and especially for your own sweet self! And share your own fic gift in exchange -

That’s right, it’s time for Ardor in August brought to you by the same folks who sponsor the renowned Slashy Santa and Jinglebells in June Fiction Exchange.

This year, the exchange will focus solely on the Elves, Man, Valar and Maiar of J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. Maybe it’s Legolas and Haldir you love, or perhaps Aragorn-on-Halbarad strikes your fancy... or maybe Manwe is your main man – from the First Age to the Fourth – spread the word, recruit your friends and fellow authors, and have some fun!

Sign-ups begin Tuesday, April 15, 2008 and will close at midnight (GMT-5:00) on Thursday, May 1, 2008. All stories will be due on July 24, 2008, and they will be unveiled on the http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/ site on Sunday, August 7, 2008.

How does a fiction exchange work? It’s simple. READ THE RULES posted at http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/ and you will find a link to the sign-up page where you may specify a pairing, rating, and the plot elements you would like to read, as well as the elements you are willing to write, and someone will write a story for you. In exchange, you will write a story for someone else using the specifications they provide. All stories will be submitted directly to the swap coordinators – you will not know whom you are writing for, nor will you know who has your request, until all fiction is posted on the Ardor in August website.

Even if you don’t want to take part in the exchange, you can still elect to be a reserve writer to be called upon in case of an emergency. Just say so on the signup form.

All we ask is that you adhere to some basic rules – If you sign up, please make sure that you can follow through and write at least 1,200 words. Please note also that this is a SLASH only FPS exchange (no RPS or het, please).

PLEASE NOTE: If you have defaulted in previous years, you will NOT be allowed to participate this year! These stories are gifts for your friends and fellow fans, and it is incredibly disappointing for a participant who has worked hard to turn in their own story only to find that we have nothing to give them. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

Today I started a vicious rumour at work that we get to leave early on Wednesday. Plotting and scheming at the Uni there. I will make it so.

They just kissed and here is where I choke. I have got to write the sex now. I have been writing this oh so witty dialogue up til this point and now for the smex.
