It really was or is. It is pouring buckets here in East Bay, CA. I got soaked walking home from work and sprayed by cars and meh. Perils of being a pedestrian. I do like the sound of rain on the roof from my warm apartment. I have always liked that sound.

I have a short week. This is Spring Break at the Uni and we get Friday off. I am really looking forward to that. I might do something crazy like write on my chapter fic. What a novel idea! It is six chapters in and I really should work on that.

Or I might go to a movie...

Or something.

Anyhoo. This is a mid-week post! Comment in if you want to, I will reply tomorrow as I am going offline. Random thing - I have been reading Grimm's Fairy tales - they make good reading as you can read them one at a time in doses. They are trippy and wild and very excellent. I am motivated by the show Once Upon a Time but they are not adhering to the fairy tale thing strictly...but classic folk-fairytales are macabre, ghoulish fun.

Cheers!

So, I found out yesterday that I did not get moved along in the MIT job search. That is ok as I was not really wanting to move out of California. Sure, the money would have been nice and it was flattering but I am 100% on interviews to resumes submitted so that is pretty good. I am just feeling around and seeing what happens. I really love my job here so that is all good. I have my reclass in process and hopefully more money this way comes. Anyhoo. Thought I would update everyone on that one. My mom was kind of bummed as she would like me on the East Coast. I am thinking I should limit the info flow that way until I have definitive stuff for her. I don't want to get her hopes on things that won't come through.

Spent 2 hours on hold with the travel desk today. Gah. Not efficient. I went to the bathroom with my headset on, made lunch, ate lunch that someone gave me as I was stuck here trying to resolve an issue. Not fun.

It is raining, finally! Love the rain! A good downpour too. Woot!

That is all. This is my mid-week post.

Rain and more rain.

Rain everyday this week. Oh the monotony of it all.

Feels like it has been raining forever.

*dramatic sigh*

This has been a post about rain. Don't get me wrong. I like stormy weather.

Ohh! We had thunder, lightening AND rain two days this week too. :)

Yeah.

I am sitting here with my cafe con leche and listening to the rain on the roof, yes indeed. It is raining and I am so in the mood for that. I live on the third floor of a big old house so I can hear the pattering sound of the rain as it his the tiles of the roof. I love that sounds. It is relaxing me and it is almost convincing me that I can shirk all the things I have to do and stay here and do nothing.

Everything that I have to do can be put off, can't it?

So here in 'sunny' California, it is raining. I looked outside this morning and it was foggy and raining and I just looked outside now and it is foggy and raining. November has hit and the winter is upon us in all its glory. Woo hoo. I trudged to work with my lovely umbrella and got my shoes all wet. Oh yay.

I actually do not mind the rain. We need it and it stops the chances of fires here, so that is good.

Nothing much to report here. Had a busy day. Worked a lot. Have to food shop on the way home.

*sigh*

Edit:

So I saw this on [livejournal.com profile] keiliss's journal and I really like it. She got it from [livejournal.com profile] aglarien1.

Here is the idea:
The idea is to post at least one thing each day that you are thankful for, for the entire month of November. Can you do it? Can you find at least one thing every day you are thankful for? I am sure you can. So try it!!! I bet at the end of the month when you look back at all you are thankful for, it will give you a really good feeling.

So we are at Nov 2 so I will do two for today.

1. I am thankful for the beauty around me. I look out my window sometimes and see the hills and it is just a wonderful thing. They can be clear or they can be shrouded in fog. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and can go hiking within 15 minutes from my house. I can see the Redwoods, the wild Pacific Coast and all sorts of great natural sights.

2. I am thankful to have a source of income and gainful employment. I walk through streets where people are destitute and begging for money. Not everyone has work so I know what might happen if I did not maintain it. I complain about the Uni sometimes but it is full of smart and nice people really. So that is something too.

It does feel good to do this. Pass it on. Posting it with the warm fuzzy as it is just a good feeling.
