The car dudes.....

So I get up bright eyed and bushy tailed, have my coffee and tend all the animals at the house I am watching and take myself down to the good ole DMV. I have gotten Noldor3 all smogged and need to make it official. REGISTER THE CAR. I also had some paperwork to do on my old clunker....make it a non-operating car. So way I go.
I get in the place and there is a HUGE line. I mean I was earleh! Wouldn't you know? The computers are down and only three terminals are running. THREE. One-two-three out of 25 stations. And I tell you, those computers are way older than the ones we have at the Uni and I work for the state too.
They make an announcement to the effect that the computers are down and they do not know when they will be up. This clears out half the line right there so I decide to stay. I got time off to do this. I am doing it. *insert expletive*
*In Arlo Guthrie like voice, guitar music playing in the background*
So I stood there in the line with a group of local malcontents and rough necks. We complained. We whined. We filled out the forms. We sighed. You could just tell who the trouble makers were going to be by their reaction when they came in the door and saw the line. They would go..."WTF?!" and mutter other not so nice things as they took their place in the line. I love the DMV.
So let me just say. Kudos to the California workers. They were amazingly polite and efficient given what they were dealing with. They surveyed the line and answered questions there and got people out in record time. I was done in about an hour. So not bad.
Here is the nice spiffy pic of the Oakland DMV for your information. It does not look like that now. It is all dirty and stuff. But this is what it is supposed to look like.
Next step: Vanity plates. *giggle*

As I said above. Nothing is too mundane for LJ. My next pic spams will prove this point as well. I have not done anything exciting in a while but I have managed to take pictures of it. *grin* My picture site was down last night so I could not post them. I expect to get to it tonight.
He he he.
Bunday will return next week. I am not on my own network this week. Cannot edit naughteh pics. I pwomise youse, Bunday will return. It is my civic responsibility. *salutes*
