In your own space, promote a canon/talk about a part of canon that you love.

I have to say my favorite canon story is from the Silmarillion and it is when Fingolfin goes off and fights Morgoth in single combat. He dies in the attempt but he manages to stab Morgoth's foot seven times and wounds him and Morgoth never fights again after that. It is brave, it is folly and it is the first fan fic I ever wrote - the madness of that - which I think it was. I think Fingolfin had literally lost his mind with grief and anger. And it was so utterly sad too. So much of the Silmarillion is sad.

Anyway - that is mine.

There were a number of people choosing the Silmarillion for various reasons, most of them for the emotions and evocative language. This sounds like another excellent example.

The Silmarillion is full of so many good stories. Really good stories. I totally love it.
