phyncke Hi all - I am here and just scanning the journals. I made it through Halloween and did not partake of candy. We had a really great Halloween Party at work that I get to organize and it was totally fun. We do local hot dogs and potluck. Had a great time. I don't really get trick or treaters at my house so I don't have to buy candy for anyone.
I got some bad news recently - my oldest childhood friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer but the good news is that they caught it very very early so she has a good fighting chance of survival. She started chemo this week and has a really great attitude. She shaved her head this week and is rocking that new hairdo. She is just great. So keep MM in your thoughts. She has a round of chemo and some surgery happening.
I am not doing any writing right now and am kind of waiting for the next challenge to come along. I have no discipline. So will hope that we get a Slashy something coming up soon.
Today I am going to a Shabbat service at a local urban Jewish farm and hope that is nice. Just doing things.

Date: 2019-11-12 09:20 pm (UTC)My best friend went through the same last year, Lots of chemo and a single mastectomy. She is very strong minded and had a lot of family/friends support, which is so good. She lost her hair and eyebrows, but bought a short wig and learned some new make-up. Lost a lot of weight with the chemo too. But now, a year on she has checked out clear and looks really good.
We do 'Zumba' together once a week and she is right back enjoying life.
I really hope your friend makes a full recovery too. Just being around to listen to all she's going through will be a real help to her.
Keeping away from sweet treats at this time of year is very hard. Sounds like you've done well so far. *cheers!*
Glad to hear you still do some 'slashy' writing. It's a great fun pastime.
