Oscar Nominations 2016

Thought I would post the Oscar nominations for 2016. I have seen - Mad Max, Bridge of Spies and the Martian. I want to see Joy and The Big Short. One thing that is noteworthy is that there is a profound lack of diversity in these. Very few people of color - typical. Just a comment. They say that the people who vote on these are mostly - older and white so that is how they vote - like older white people. Maybe things have to change on that? Also - Ridley Scott was totally overlooked in the director category - what gives there?

Go see the Martian, Fim. I read the book and it's pretty amazing.

Wow! I did really poorly on seeing movies this year.

I saw more than I thought. I am waiting for more movies to come on TV in general. It gets expensive. I only see movies that have to be seen on the big screen.

That lack of diversity hit the front page of the LA Times. They should be ashamed of themselves. It degrades the Oscars and makes it meaningless.

I agree with you - especially as there were Oscar level performances this year too. It is not like there were no performances to choose. I totally agree with you. I am inclined not to watch this year.
