I am watching The Hobbit - Desolation. I have to say - one of my favorite scenes is Tauriel healing Kili with the athelas. It is just so beautiful. I really love her character in general in the film. I have to say she is a wonderful addition to the story. There, I have said it! Say what you want. I love her!

True, and I don't find her Mary Sueish, although she's gorgeous and a great fighter. What I don't like is Jackson's interpretation that Thranduil is a snob. I mean, I bet he is, but not towards the Silvan elves... would they have kept him so long as king if he disdained them and put them in a lower caste...? Anyways, yay for strong, gorgeous elf women injected into Tolkien's wrold. ;)

It was great in the theatre. I saw it three times in the theatre. Obsessive that I am. I have such a tiny TV that I wanted the full effect lots of times. They will show it in the theatre again, I am sure.

You think? They usually pull them around here in no time, and then the next day they are on dvd! :O I'll keep a look-see for that. I have a good sized TV screen, but still. IN the theatre WITH the sound is just SO much better. I guess I am obsessive much, too, because I have done the same thing with the other LOTR movies, and the Harry Potter movies, and any other thing that I might fancy. *huge grin*

They go out of the theatre but then they will show them all again in the theatre eventually when all the movies have been released. A Hobbit Retrospective. They did that with LOTR - showed them all in the theatre again. You will eventually get to see it in the theatre. Maybe not for a while. But eventually.

Just fyi on your layout, the two sidebars are covering part of the main text box. As I'm typing this, I can't see the right part of the text box because "Sept 2014" is covering it.


I din't really have an opinion one way or the other on Tauriel. she's fine I guess. :)

I just ordered a few DVDs and DoS was one. We have a fair sized tv, so it should be quite cool watching it on there.

Sometimes it looks ok and sometimes not. Not sure what is going on with it. I always use the same 3 column layout and change the header and colors so not sure why it is doing this. Right now it is fine. But it was happening to me.

I cannot do bigbang this time. I want to work on my own WIP. I have seven chapters done on it. :P

I have DoS and have a teeny TV and it is still good. :P

You haven't posted your fic, so if there is 20,000 words of story left to write (6 chapters?) you could sign up to do that and it would give you targets and a deadline to work towards, plus you get art? It's nice because it's your own fic and not for someone else and there's plenty of writing time, but it gives you some structure to work within?

Oh, I remember that. Alex would let you do it if you were reworking the small posted bit (and Binky's are all under 1500 words) It's not like having 7 chapters online already, or my chapters for Time's Passages, which I'd love to have been able to do for the Big Bang but can't. It's really almost a pre-story bit.
