This week I am off to Vegas. Crazy heat happening there but the prices are good. We are staying at the MGM Grand and plan on staying by the pool and doing the buffets and making good use of the AC. Yeppers. Should be fun. Then I have a staycation here at home for the rest of my week off and am looking forward to it. Sleep and projects here at home. I am going to clean some things out and go walking. That is it for me really. Vacation.

My parents bought a house in NH and I may go to Manchester to help them go through their stuff in mid August if I can get the time off and afford the airfare. I may or may not go. I am undecided. I have to see. It would be good to go and help but would be bad for my credit picture. So I have to see. Not sure on this yet.

It has been a cold and foggy summer here in the Bay Area. Not very good swimming weather but I don't mind that. I kind of like it really.

Hope your summer (or winter) is going well. Cheers to you!

It is a laundry day here. I am going to do laundry at the laundrymat. Thrilling. I like doing it there because I can get it done faster than with a single washer at home. I pack my stuff and it takes only an hour for three loads at once. Done. I don't mind it really and the ladies at the laundry are sweethearts. Really nice and they make change. It is all good.

I am starting to get a level of detachment at work. Example - we had an event this weekend and I really did not care how it went. I think this is good. I think it is a sign that I need to move along but I am kind of glad that it does not matter to me that much. I still do a good job but a more detached feeling is good. I will keep job hunting. I do need to beef up my cover letter. I think I missed out on some interviews because my cover letter was weak.

Yesterday, I went to the club with my friends. We hung out in the shade and dunked in the pool. Very relaxing. It was a nice summery thing to do and really fun. We got the frozen coffee drinks from the cafe. Really living.

I am watching Fashion Police on the DVR. I really love Joan Rivers. She is so hilarious with her comments on this show. Caustic fun here.

That is all I have. Hope you are well and having a great weekend. Cheers to you!

No one tagged me on any meme and I am not doing one anyways. So niener. I too tired.

I played hookie today and slept gloriously late. I think 4 more hours and then lazed around with coffee. My computer was having troubles and I could not get any web pages to load on any browsers. Turns out it was an issue with updates from Windows conflicting with my Zone firewall. If anyone else had issues with this, make sure you install ALL the updates and it will fix itself. Also be sure your Zone has updated today. Of course, if you are having issues you won't be able to read this so go figure. Heh.

This evening I went to the pool and we had an open air picnic of brie, fresh bread, seasonal fruit and other things that were easy to carry and serve up there on the patio at my friends' club. It was reasonably hot here today so it was good to dunk in the water and splash around. I spent some time teaching the kiddo (the one I borrow) how to cream his friends at tether ball. It all comes down to a dominant serve and then press the advantage. Yes, I won at tether ball as a kid, along with other sports. He was all jazzed about having a killer serve too. Woot. No, I am not competitive. Heh.

After the swimming thing, J*** and I took a drive around the hills for what we called our Murder Tour. A local man was recently convicted for killing his wife (divorce in process) and burying the body in the regional park and it has been in the news lately. He lived in a neighborhood that we went to all the time and that she used to live in. So we did the drive by. Ghoulish, eh? But vastly entertaining. Yeah. Much discussion revolved around..."what was he thinking?" and I never will get that...never ever.

I had lots of other things to say but all that outdoor activity has left me tired here. The rest of this week is going to be hot so I am sure I will be low key. Hope everyone is well.

Coming attractions: Jazzy new layout! Once I fix up the banner.
