So following up from my pain filled post earlier. I had a brief morning at work and did my two meetings. One was a site tour for an event this Fall and it was very productive. We found the PERFECT location for a donor meeting in a fabulous room so it was well worth going in and toughing it through for that. I made a good connection with a building coordinator in the newest building on campus with state of the art facilities. So woopety. Then development staff meeting so that went well. All on target there.

After that I went right off to the chiro. I had been able to call, at the insistence of my co-worker who likes to nag but she was absolutely right on this one. I got in for a 1pm appointment and after and ultra-sonic massage thing and my adjustment, I feel incrementally better. I will be seeing my fabulous chiro for a few weeks of treatment here as I have the accumulated nerve bundle pinching going on. I do like the treatments so that is ok. I also love the fact that it is totally covered on my Blue Cross. This is why I pay in a little extra for the insurance...they cover this treatment fully with a little bit of a co-pay for each visit. Woot.

After that appointment, I stopped for some fast food (Jack in the Box) and then came home and did a nice long ice/ibu induced nap. Very good. I will be going to work and I have another chiro thing on Friday morning.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I don't have the energy to answer comment by comment but I did read them all. *group huggle* You guys are the best.

I am sitting here biting my nails because I am having my procedure today. The dreaded *coughs* root canal. The drilling, the grinding, the smell, the novacaine....the AUGH!!!

I really do not do well with these things. WTF is the matter with me anyway?! I am a weenie.

I go in at 2:30....I have a lot of time to sit here and worry about it.

So it started yesterday. The pain...oh the pain. In one of my back left molars. Well I thought it was only one, well it turns out it is two, on the same side. Went to the emergency dentist. With my car out of commission, I cannot get to my regular dude. My friend here at work swears by her person who is right up the street and they could take me this afternoon. So I went. Booked it up the street at a fast clip.

Oh gods....one of the teeth needs to be root canaled. It has a massive filling, one of those old kinds and it is leaking. You can see it right on the x-ray. I was morbidly fascinated by the whole thing after they stretched my mouth every which way taking the pictures. You can see it. It is pretty cool. Dentists have all this cool technology now and you can see the x-ray right on a laptop while you sit in the chair. I saw just what they were talking about too. One molar had this white fuzzy stuff around where the filling was....which means it is seeping.

The other tooth looks fine even though it really hurts too. She said I am most likely grinding my teeth and aggravating the nerve endings on that one. That makes total sense. I had to wear a mouth guard for 12 months to correct my bite and stop that bad habit. She recommends that I start wearing it again. Just at night which is when I am probably doing the damage.

This dentist is good and referred me to the endo-endo-endo-WHATEVAH...so I can get the root canal done. Ain't life grand?

Frig. Thank god for health coverage.
