While the new home page is quite a shock...

It is not that bad. I was disappointed to see they took the link to birthdays off the page. After some looking around, I found that I could find birthdays by clicking on LJ Tokens at the top of the page and birthdays are on that page. If anyone else needs to get to them. That was one of the only things I really used the home page for was for birthdays. Anyhoo.

I am not that upset about the home page. It actually is useful in that it posts your recent comments and such. I just wish they had left a link to the birthdays there for convenience sake. I am getting to be indifferent to the changes on LJ.

Yes - used that all the time. I hear birthdays will show up in the events area of the home page. I liked the list tho.

I don't know if it's me or the layout but it feels terribly crowded now. I don't like it at all but then I didn't like the original either. I think you can hide stuff - I need to go look at doing that. I'm not on there often, but I'm so tired of them 'fixing' things and there being no discernible improvement (in fact, the profile page was worse when they were done)

I don't mind it so much. I am finding it useful in a weird way. I got over the birthday thing and people say birthdays will show up in the events area. I can take it or leave it. I am not going to enjoy the friends feed change and I don't like the profile at all, nuu.

I never visit the homepage so these changes don't affect me in any way. I usually stumble across the LJ homepage when I'm logging in from someone else's computer but that's about it. In fact, I wouldn't have known they'd changed it if you hadn't posted about it :)

That said, yeah. I'm becoming more zen about these changes. Nothing to be done to prevent them from do whatever they like so, well, why bother getting upset?

All I noticed at first was that I couldn't click on anything, since it wanted to give me a "tour" or whatever.

i almost never use the home page so it doesn't bother me much. The only time i use it is when i am trying to get to the layout editing or other settings options that don't show up on my friends page and those are all still there where they belong.

I am still really against the new friends page though, i keep clicking the little x when the banner shows up and telling it to gtfo but it won't stay gone XD

I don't use it that much either - just to look up birthdays really but I found those again. I actually kind of like the redesign of it. It is pretty useful.

Now the friends page - I hate. I am hoping that they never implement it or allow us a choice on that. But who knows. I would have thought it would have changed by now.
