OEAM Writer’s Circle – March 2013


Alexcat has decided to reintroduce the OEAM Writer’s Circle to our groups.
This was the brainchild of ME!, who administered it the first time
around.

The way it works is you get a prompt each month and
stories are due after the end of the month. For example if you write a
story for the March Prompt, then you’d post it between April 1-10.
There may or may not be a banner for participants. There is no signup
and no penalty. The only pressure is to post it within the 10 day
posting period at the first of every month. I will post a reminder on
March 31.

Here is your prompt for March 2013:

Your character’s most unforgettable animal. Go write!!! Hurry!

Writer’s Circle Guidelines:
-This is a multi-fandom writing circle. Your story (or stories) can be from
any fandom that is permitted at www.ofelvesandmen.com.
-Please submit or post your story (or stories) after *deadline date*. You should
post it here on the OEAM LJ community and if you wish -- also post it
on the lotradultfiction yahoo group or OEAM slash yahoo group
-Stories can be of any length ranging from a drabble (100 words) to a full
length fic. You can also begin a chapter story if you like and submit as
much of it as you wish.
-You may submit as many stories which fit this prompt as you would like.
-Please format your story (or stories) with a story header from: http://www.ofelvesandmen.com/SubmissionGuidelines.htm#Header
-Please post each story as a separate post on the community and yahoo groups.

It is really good and they post monthly prompts. I need that kind of thing too. I am thinking of a few things. I might do some short pieces to jump start my writing.

I like that a drabble can be submitted. Most challenges the minimum is 1200 words or more. So drabbles work for this. I want to work on some drabbles for this one.

I have some ideas, as you know but you can wait for the next prompt. Maybe that will speak to you. I have always been interested in Fingolfin's horse. So I have that one to do.

Eagles, elephants, Asfaloth... and then I go blank, heh. Yours is a nice idea.

I am still deliberating on what to do with it. All of those would work. I think the eagles would be cool. But if it does not work for you - the next prompt could be a good one.
