Hope you enjoy that.
Short movie review. I really enjoyed John Carter - a visual, science fiction feast based on the novels of the early 1900's. I don't want to give too much away but our hero - Civil War confederacy cavalry captain, John Carter is transported to Barjoum (Mars) when he happens upon a magical cave and amulet. He finds the gravitational differences give him super human jumping and warrior abilities there. There is a complex political culture and 9 races of peoples on Mars (Barjoum). I found this interesting enough that I might even look up the original books to see how those are. I love science fiction. Anyhoo. The movie held together structurally and it was visually beautiful. Taylor Kitsch is gorgeous here as the main character and the rest is well acted too. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen for the landscape and grandness of the film.
I love movies that deliver. Anyhoo. Happy Sunday to all of you and hope you are having a good weekend. Don't forget to change your clocks today, spring ahead by one hour, if applicable.
Cheers!

Date: 2012-03-13 02:12 am (UTC)I will check out the archive and see about that. I primarily use OEAM for my fan fic. So let me look there and let you know. You still have codes? I am late getting back to you.

Date: 2012-03-11 07:41 pm (UTC)Thanks for the pimpage for Secret Garden last post, it's much appreciated. I need to respond to reviews - just so overwhelmed with B2MeM it's hard to stretch the hours. Will do better :|

Date: 2012-03-13 02:16 am (UTC)I really enjoyed the movie. My friend who read the books said there were some differences that were forgivable in the movie. It seemed a lot tamer than she described the books as being so keep in mind it is a Disney film...no nudity or sex there and I heard that the books were racy. But I also love a good epic sci fi story.
I am really enjoying the story so happy to post about it. I look forward to each installation.
I pinged you about this. I am rereading Doubt and having fun with that too. I love that one as well. That is in my always keep cache of stories. :)

Date: 2012-03-13 11:36 pm (UTC)I need to get the next chapter of Secret Garden up. I've got lost in writing the SWG B1MeM prompts, I'm losing track of time,
Will definitely look out for the movie when it's released here - saw a trailer a few days ago so maybe we won't be too far behind you on this one.

Date: 2012-03-12 02:25 am (UTC)Hm...I'm looking forward to the movie! I was a big fan of the books growing up :-) (In the books he was rather amazing even before he went to Mars...plus, he resembles Tarzan in his noble brow and grey eyes ;-)
What Alex said, just be aware that there are 11 books :-)
*hugs you*
