Writing update and things...

Here is an update of sorts on my story.

555 / 2500 words. 22% done!

I am doing pretty well there and the writing is going pretty well. I am still on the preface so that is not too bad. Leading into the story with a bit of a thing.

Got some bad news last night. My dad took a fall in a parking lot by a bookstore and hurt his leg. We were all worried that he hurt the hip he'd had replaced. At first it seemed like things were ok and he just had a bruise but then he could not walk so he had to go to the hospital in an ambulance early this morning. I don't have an update right now but he is 83 so keep him in your thoughts. I am a bit worried about him. There were icy conditions last night there so that was what caused it.

Yesterday - I went down to Santa Cruz to take the kiddo back to college - UC Santa Cruz. We drove down and back and went for the yummy pizza there. Easy trip and did not really stop anywhere much but on campus and to the pizza and coffee place. Quick there and back again. It was an easy drive and not much traffic.

That is about all I have. Last day of vacation today and back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

He is doing ok now. He is out of bed and walking around and not in too much pain. Has an appetite so that is all good news.

Sucks to be going back to work after holidays. Here's to hoping we avoid that 'I don't want to get out of bed' state of mind tomorrow morning. :)

He is doing ok now - less pain and walking around. Home and my mom is feeding him. Seems much better than it was. :) *hugs*

I am going to try and stay as positive as I can about tomorrow morning. I will muster my sunshiny disposition! :P

Thanks, darling. He is doing ok now. They have him on the ice and ibuprophen plan and then later he will do heat. I think it was a big shocker for him to slip like that in the ice. He is doing pretty well now and moving around better today. *hugs*

Wow, sorry about your dad but glad things seem to be going better there now. It's scary for older people to fall because they know exactly how serious it could be and so the stress also becomes a factor.

R goes back to work in a week. He's already muttering about it, lol. Hope Monday is good to you.

I talked to my dad tonight and he is banged up but fine. The pain is subsiding now so that is good. He is one the mend.

I am prepared to go back mentally so that is something. I will put on some work clothes and go in there, I guess. :P

Sending positive thoughts about your father. I had a really good friend from high school attend UC Santa CRuz and I went to visit her there, um, MANY years ago. I wonder how much it's changed. Seemed like a great place to go to school.
