I am here. I got totally absorbed in Game of Thrones and watched three seasons of it over the last few weeks. Totally addictive television. I am thinking about reading the books. Has anyone read those on my flist? Not sure about committing to those. I put the first one on my kindle to see how that goes. Seems like a pretty big commitment and I have limited time to read so there is that.

Work is there and happening. I had a great event last week - awards ceremony. It was rewarding and well attended. All went well. I have a NY event that I am remote planning. Less than thrilling. I just want to get the name tags done and be finished with it. That is about how it goes for that.

Things I should do -
-start exercising
-do a little yoga each day
-meditate

Just putting those on here so I will remember to do some wellness stuff.

I thought I would post in with an entry and have a ramble. I am debating doing the Ardor in August - vascillating and wavering. Teetering on the brink of signing up. Considering. Pain and suffering?

O.o

We're about to start season 3 of GoT. No HBO, so it's all Netflix.

Scotty is reading the books. Huge time commitment. If you think the series is confusing, just wait. 50 bajillion side characters from all over the place and everyone is double-crossing/killing/sleeping with everyone else.

Yay another person watching GoT!

The books are seriously long, 500+ pages each and there are 5 of them. The last couple are over 1000 pages. If you still have your audible membership I would suggest going the audio book route! I borrowed them as audio books from my library and that was how I "read" them. They are really long but they are really good too! The show is stays fairly close to the books but there are some things that have to be simplified or left out to make the show work. Especially this season there are some things that are farther off than the previous seasons were from the books.

Basically, the show is awesome, the books are more awesome and I think you should read them but they are incredibly long so audiobooks are a good way to go if you are able.

Hi Jane,
Lovely to hear things are going well for you at work. Yoga and meditation sound great ideas.

I didn't think of GOT on Audible. I have points saved so I might go there too. I have the first 2 seasons on DVD, but fell asleep during the last episode (tired not boredom), so have to re-watch.

Season 4 has just started on Sky Atlantic, but we don't have that. I'd better avoid spoilers.

Glad you're enjoying it too.
*hugs* xxx

I am somewhere in book 3 (or 4), Storm of Swords. The tv show is ahead of me, so I will catch up when I can be arsed to read the books again. Other than that, we watched ep 3 of S4 last night so yeah. If you can skim beyond the lots of details and stay focussed on the main leads and their plot.. then it is a nice read. I started to skim the parts when clothing or banners were described in utter detail ;)

I read the first two books before seeing the tv series, which spoilt the series for me a bit as I already had faces and voices in my mind. Having said that, the books are a good, solid read, though I wouldn't do them one after the other, it's just too much. And people die all over the place!

Not doing AinA - have personal issues right now plus I'm probably due for a break.

GOT....we did the same thing, watched the first 3 seasons and were totally hooked. OMG I love that show. Debating on reading the books took, but haven't decided yet...
