Glorious Cat
Feb. 8th, 2013 03:13 pmSomeone sent me this poem on my cat support list. I thought it was beautiful and will share it with you.
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
and, as a cat, you know I am most able
to decide anything for myself.
... Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
for my human friends are troubled
for you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
for I will whisper into their hearts
that I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Date: 2013-02-09 07:33 am (UTC)Here's my favorite kitty poem:
Saint Jerome's Cat
In his study St. Jerome kept a kitty cat.
It's always in his pictures with its feet upon a mat.
Did he give it milk to drink in a little dish?
When it came to Friday did he give it a fish?
If I lost my little cat I'd be so sad without it.
I would ask St. Jerome what to do about it.
I would ask St. Jerome just because of that,
for he's the only saint I know who kept a kitty cat.
