I have been getting SPAM comments on some of my old posts on LJ:

I report the person as a BOT while first replying to the person with an expletive. This is just another reason why livejournal totally sucks right now. I get 3-4 of these a day. I am getting these on old RP journals, my current active journal etc.

It seems to be a recent thing. I will report it to LJ but I wondered if it is happening to anyone else.

Just another great LJ thing. The spam comment...really, I got three of them today.

I got one spam comment the other day. It was advertising on a comm I'm no longer in.

Don't reply to them, they're bots, they don't care. Delete them, spam them and ban them.

Im probably jinxing our journal by saying this but we havent been getting them recently. On a bunch of our old inactive journals there are always bots or some kind of spam though. :/

I have gotten a bunch on my active journal today though on older posts. Bleeping trolls.

I have gotten a bunch of those today, none on my personal journal yet but in public posts everywhere else I am getting them! I report everyone as a bot, ban it from commenting in my journal and my communities and then mark the comment as spam. I don't know if it is related but I have been getting a lot of spam emails in the last two days to, ones that are making it past my spam filter.

I am getting them on old comments on my active personal journal and on old inactive rp journals. Lots of these. I reply to them and tell them off... Delete/ban while reporting them as bots. I checked one of the journals too and it is a bot. Very irksome. This all takes my time. That is what I really resent. My computer time is limited and I am in pain so I get angry at this wasting my time. Argh!

Well, they are empty accounts so I report the bot before I delete. Otherwise nothing happens to them.

Will think about that but I prefer to have an open journal. That is a philosophical thing.

Yep - if you use 'friends only' as the journal default it wont happen. ( I hope) .

I keep my journal open for certain reasons. This is an LJ problem.

I get them in communities and other accounts though none on my personal journal yet. Mine is not 'friends only' either. I did change my pw the other day when LJ insisted that I do so. maybe that helped.

I just report them as bots and delete the posts.
