phynckeJust a quick update to the ole journal before the weekend. I had a score of a day at work yesterday. I plan events at work and do development work now. I have sort of morphed into this at work and I think I have found my niche. It is where the Uni is at and I might actually be good at this.
So here is the down low.
We had a **** Foundation Lunch yesterday which I was key to planning. Room looked great. Food, they raved over. I cannot take credit for that. The Faculty Club has improved their offerings.
I sat next to a really good group of women. The **** Foundation is a woman's organization which funds students in the sciences. We had great conversation and our little "group" came up with a cool alumni idea that I will follow up on that will tie into a membership thing for them as well as a way for them to find new board members. *score*
I also came up with a way for them to spotlight current students getting their scholarships.
The assistant director called me an asset and my director said I should definitely attend our events from now on since I was good at this "stewardship thing" and knew how to work a room.
Yayus. This is good for my promotion. SO GOOD.
