And I gave my opinion. I am sitting here over coffee and I get this email from LJ. Some policy thing and they give a link. Now all the policy stuff on that site I can find is old but I registered an opinion about this flagging thing. I get disturbed that people can just flag a journal without going through steps do to this reporting thing. So this is what I wrote.

I think that this flagging thing has got to stop. I think that if someone wants to report an entry, they should have to go through steps to do it and should have to send in an email report to LJ. That way they have to think about it and cannot just CLICK a button on an entry without thinking. Most other sites have this kind of feedback on content...not this big brother approach. You can allow for reporting just not a one click approach.

I think you are asking for people to rat on each other this way. I honestly don't like the idea that someone can just click on an entry without having to write in about it. I think there needs to be a delay in reporting and some THOUGHT involved in it.

And this is what I think...All sites have some system of reporting abuse...but I actually think that people should have to WORK to report someone. They should have to search for the comment area where they can and it should not be so accessible. That would mean they really WANTED to do it. None of this one click and you flag a journal BS. So that is what I mean there. I have never flagged a journal so I don't know what all is involved there...I don't think I ever will. Most other sites I have been on make you hunt down the comment area to report things. Not LJ...it is far too easy.

So if you have an opinion on the their "policies" please go comment...I don't know if they are actually listening but the floor is open...the entry is here:
