Basic info:
Coffee place with locations in SF, South Bay. You order your coffee and they make it for you, adding the cream and sugar for you.

This is a fun, very hip coffee shop with excellent coffee. I got a little coffee therapy as the barista helped me figure out what I really wanted. I had the tesora on ice with cream and sugar. He made it up for me, it was delicious and the coffee could stand up to being iced. A lot of coffee weakens too much when you ice it but not this stuff. Holds up to that. Friendly atmosphere here and really great coffee. The people who work here really love it and know their product well enough to consult with people coming in. A true find. I will go back there and add it into my coffee circuit.

Basic info:
Jewish oriented food. Seated meals as well as a deli counter for "to go" food. Classic jewish food - like knishes, bagels and lox. Matzo ball soup - stuff like that.

Saul's is as close to East Coast Jew food as you can get in Berkeley. It does it pretty well. You get dill pickles on the table, salami scramble, knishes - stuff like that. Today we had this delicious french toast, sausage and blintzes. It was all good and a really good experience. What was really nice is that we got seated right away. There is usually a wait here. I really enjoyed the food today. We ate all our complimentary pickles and the food was inviting and delish.

They serve breakfast all day too. I love that.

26/100 Battleship (movie review)

Battleship(2012)
Based on the Hasbro game of the same name

Summary:
Aliens receive a transmission from Earth and invade our planet, touchdown Pacific Ocean just off Hawaii. The battle is on as the Navy is first on scene.

I was not really expecting much from this movie and it was way better than I bargained for. This really held together! Not a high brow film but a pretty good movie! Action, aliens and they even used the locating technique from the Battleship board game. I was so excited about that. They cleverly integrated that into this plot.

Lots of explosions, great climactic moments and ultimate triumph as disaster is avoided and the aliens defeated. I am sure most of you won't see this so I am not worried about spoilers in my review. Taylor Kitsch is gorgeous in this and he is solid. Liam Neeson as the Admiral, also solid. I even liked Rihanna in this and I am not a fan of her but she was spunky and feisty here. We thought that she could have used some more foul language in her dialogue...a little stronger there but they kept her pretty g-rated.

My review here is that I liked this more than I thought I would. Got some laughs and loved the battle tactics and explosions. Yes.
