And here we are. Here is a cool pic for the Bunday post.

In other news...
This week coming up is a busy one. I have an event in Seattle and a trip there and then my awards ceremony coming up two weeks after that. Lots doing there. I am looking forward to this month being over and having some down time actually. I also have my awards ceremony for my Chancellor's Award this week so that is cool. That happens on the 15th.

On LJ and downtime. I have been able to get on most times and it is only mildly inconvenient so I am staying here. I think it is good that they support those journals and freedom of expression in Russia and no one has actually talked about what that means really. I am proud of LJ for supporting dissident writers and those that post against the status quo there. So good on them. I am not moving. I do have a DW journal - "phyncke" over there but I am patient here and think that LJ will sort it out. I think we can give LJ some loyalty for supporting political causes and the fact that I have been here for years. This is a rough patch for them and where is our sense of community? So that is where I am on that. Staying right here, actually. That is it. In the big perspective of things, what is a small inconvenience when there are dissidents posting writings there against the Kremlin. In some small way...I feel a part of that and good for LJ for supporting their bloggers over there. You can friend me on DW but I am pretty much on LJ. If you want to archive your journal to your computer, there is a nifty utility called LJ Archive which allows you to do that in a readable format.

Cheers to all and hope you had a great weekend.

I remembered the PW. That was a major achievement. Adding a few people here and checking this out. I mainly use this journal for posts about writing. I don't have time to do that now though there is a prompt up on OEAM Writer's Circle which has me thinking.

Cheers all!

I am testing the cross-post function from dreamwidth and also providing the following resource. This is a nifty little LJ archiving tool called LJ Archive. You download it to your computer and it allows you to archive a formatted and searchable version of your journal to your hard drive. Dreamwidth disabled the importing of journals due to the DDOS thing so this is a second option for saving your journal, if you are so inclined. I have not read enough on this to know if you can restore the journal back into LJ or another blogging site but this is something.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ljarchive/

I hope that you find this helpful.

Cheers.

*a post script - this utility relies on LJ's servers for the back up. You have to log in to lj from the script and it backs up your journal. While LJ is having trouble, this utility will have trouble backing up your journal so keep that in mind and try at different times to get your journal back up.*
