phyncke: (World Cup 2010)
It is so nice to have a Saturday to sit and watch the matches. Have been watching the Uruguay-Korea match up and you know I keep going back to that phrase:

It's not over til it's over

That applied to the Americans in their match for sure and it applies to the Koreans today. The commentary was sounding like Uruguay had it in the bag and then we get that beautiful header goal to even it up. Just goes to show. Not over. And Suarez just scored again!!! Oh my god!!! 2-1!!!

I would like to thank a few people for the soccer balls they sent me. I really love them and they are gracing my profile page! Woo. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] laurahonest, [livejournal.com profile] weepingnaiad, [livejournal.com profile] wyckkedwench, [livejournal.com profile] bostonsoxbabe18, [livejournal.com profile] elflover59. *hugs to all of you*

I was going to send a bunch but I did it wrong and they did not go through. Oh wells. I am stoopid.

I have my coffee here and am enjoying a now very exciting footie match. I am really looking forward to the US one coming up. Booya!

Match results: Uruguay 2 South Korea 1
Uruguay advances.

Next up USA versus Ghana *bites nails and has too much coffee*

USA LOST!!!!

The US is out of the cup but on the bright side, an African team stays in. Go Ghana!

I am really pleased with how the US played today. We are out but not defeated. That is how I see it. Slow coming out in the first half but they really played well for the second half. Well done boys. Well done!

(Previously stated)

Got the game on and will update. How exciting. May the best team win. It is SO great. They showed this US fan in the pregame or ESPN coverage and he had shaved GO USA in his chest hair. That seems a bit much but heh.

Remember, the US is a comeback team so -- It's not over, til it's over!

Score Final
US 1 Ghana 2

For running commentary and updates
-Oh man, first goal by Ghana and really early. Not good folks. Concede that it was a beauty.
-Ghana is doing well at keeping the ball and pressing on goal. In their favor.
-Ghana dominated the first half, good offense and passing play with precision.
-US needs to step up here and get their game going. They are a second half team and have been through the competition so far. They are usually sluggish at first and then get going. I hope that is the case today. Will see.
-Better start to the second half already. That ALMOST went in on that first play. Alright now!
-Penalty kick for US-O-M-G!! Donovan comes through! What a beauty!
-US doing much better in the second half. More shots on goal etc. Alright now.
-Oh that goal hurt. That really hurt. Nice one.
-Overtime - two fifteen minute rounds. Woo! Lots of football!
-A well played game on both sides and the US kept in on for the whole time. Good show by our boys. Well played!

Wonder Woman!!!!

*note--I added the blue border to this but it is just a white background and no edging. Mine comes matted and I will be getting it framed

I found this print at the art faire in ***, Oakland, CA. She is my inner icon, my girl. I just love that here she is in easy pose. I have been doing yoga nightly as part of this 11minuteyoga thing and will be doing this for 40 days. I think this print reflects my inner self. La.

The artist's name is Clay Vajgrt from Cloverdale, CA and you can find his work here:

This is part of the "Monks" Series and he did a bunch of Super Heroes. You can see them all on his web site. I just love the kitsch of this and it is tight til payday but so worth it. This piece really spoke to me, you know? Had to have her!

Cheers and still in recovery but you know I will be watching more World Cup. Hope you are having a good weekend!

Tomorrow is Gay Pride San Francisco. The theme this year is 40 and fabulous for the 40th anniversary of this wonderful event here in SF. Tonight is what they call Pink Saturday (a lesbian celebration). Sorry for all the posts but lots of note today. This is such an important event. [livejournal.com profile] khylea told me it is also Pride in Seattle so I looked up the national calendar for this event nationwide. You can find it here...(city by city in the US)

There are a few going on in other cities if you check that link out. I would be curious to know of anything international happening.
