With some relief...

We figured out at work that we will not have to lay anyone off in our department this year or at all in the face of this fiscal crisis in California. We have had some attrition which means there will be a bit more work for less of us but the staff that are here will all be secure in their positions. This is great news at the Uni where the layoff waves are hitting and coming in like dread tsunamis. I cannot tell you what a relief it is to know that I don't have to worry about this.
