Now here is the report you really want to read. The inaugural dish report. The style watch post about the outfits and all that. Let's just call it
culture watch or something.
The WimminsFirst off Michelle's outfit. A total win. They were saying on the news outlets that it matched the church that she went to before the ceremony. I don't know if she did that intentionally but that was a win as far as they are concerned and she looked great in that. Set off her skin nicely and she looked lovely.
Bush's wife chose a muted gray with a hint of purple to wear and that seemed appropriate for her role as a departing first lady. Not taking center stage at all and really a background color. I really have enjoyed her through the years she has been in the White House. She has class and style. She was a school teacher and has good fashion sense. Really classy.
Barack's kids looked adorable in purple and pink winter coats. They are just to die for. I think they are going to do very well as the First Kiddos. They seem to handle events well and don't mind doing these things. Really cuties.
I loved Aretha's outfit and hat for her number there. Classy gray number there with a bow on that interesting shaped thing (some call it a hat). She looked cool and she is the matron of jazz. I love her there. She sand that song so well and I just love her voice.
Diane Feinstein set just the right tone as the MC for the event. Kept it moving and did not stand out in a brash outfit or anything. She wore something suitably conservative and nondescript since I cannot remember what it was.
The Men...really all you can talk about is their tie choice. They all wear the same dark suits.
Barack is so elegant and handsome. He took center stage with the red power tie. Yep. Totally appropriate. That US flag pin was glinting and shining in the sun during his speech---a nice effect. He had a calm manner and seemed able to handle this moment really well. His speech...well very him. Eloquent and frank. He is a straight shooter and frames the moment.
Biden was totally appropriate. He did nothing to upstage the President Elect and is such a nice person. I think he is going to be great. I really do like him.
George--he smiled and did well as the outgoing Prez. Much as I cannot stand him, I think he did well. His manner was perfect for this day. He was friendly with his staff (who seemed supportive of him).
Cheney--that wheel chair. Poor guy. It almost upstaged everyone.
Bill Clinton--always looks good. His hair is totally silver now and he STILL looks good.
The CrowdConfirms my belief that Obama is totally OUR president. The chanting for him and all that. Total WIN. Go us!
That's all I got. No offense intended. These are my own opinions only and really...I am just having fun here.
