phynckeSo I just got a bit of meh family news. My brother...who is like a freaking genius college professor, had been up for a teaching job at Yale. Tenure track..yada yada. His field is musicology and music history. He is a brainiac. He just finished a guest professorship there and got standing ovations in all the classes he taught. I mean the students *loved* him. So this is where it is obvious that the University there does not care what the students think.
They passed him over.
WTF?!
I don't get it. They wrote him a long letter about how they would have hired him, and really loved his teaching and all that but they had a change in their policy and were not going to hire anyone.
They *asked* him there to teach for a semester.
They *asked* him to apply.
It was not like he went looking for the job with them.
Go figure.
He also did his undergrad there.
Go figure.
