Here is another post on the FRIENDS Feed. Go forth and comment and make your feelings known. They still don't get it, folks, so make some noise here on this post and be loud!

http://lj-releases.livejournal.com/79629.html

I have already commented but we need to bring it and bring it in numbers. Do not want. This friends feed will be mandatory before long so share this on your list and get the word out. Changes are coming that are going to wreck the look of our flists.

I thought I would get the word out and see if you will too.

I have been ranting on their thread. I hate the way they just keep driving users away. They are not just stupid and inconsiderate, but have poor business sense as well. People use Tumblr and Twitter for Tumblr and Twitter things and LJ is used for other things! They do not get it.

People spend tons of time designing their pages to look the way they want. Grrr.

*sigh* I am getting really irritated. I know I say this every time they change stuff but I am seriously considering moving to dw permanently.

LJ is seriously only interested in the ONTD crowd and evidently they want FB2 instead of a blog site.

I don't think they really care about any users other than the Russian ones now. It's supposed to be a global site, but it's not beng run that way. I've put up with a lot of crap to stay on LJ, but I'm having a hard time with this one. I've already imported everything to my DW journal.

Huh. Just tested the new page on an old rp journal. It made my browser crash.

Please note they made the post on [livejournal.com profile] lj_releases and not on the news site. Releases has a much smaller subscription. Plus they did this on Halloween, when fewer people are checking their list. Plus the notification of the post was done as surreptitiously as they could manage.

It's time to start supporting Dreamwidth, who consult with their users BEFORE they make changes.

ETA: I am test driving it. I've decided to run it for a day. So far --- it's giving me a headache, I find it hard to read (too wide), the font is too small for me but if I increase it, the archive and up tabs cover the end of the text. Where are my tags? Where are my links?

And I can't test it in my netbook because the poor baby hates it.

The simple fact that they're making small changes on the design of the new friends feed means that no matter what we say or beg for, the new page *will* go live soon and it *will* be mandatory. I'm sorry but that's how it is and how it'll always be with LJ.

By all means, express your POV, say your piece and make your decisions regarding whether to keep using LJ or not (also, rant at will, they deserve it!) But don't expect it to make any difference because it won't.

It sucks and it *will* mean that LJ will slowly lose most of its users and die, but that's their choice and they don't care to change it.
