phynckeThe ban on same sex marriage in California has been deemed unconstitutional -
halle-frigging-luja! Prop 8 is history! The fight is not over as they vow to take the case to the Supreme Court but the academic law professors think it unlikely that court will take up the case. This is good news. Good news for equal rights!

Excerpt from the majority decision:
Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples," said Judge Stephen Reinhardt in the majority opinion.
