Today's local activity...
Sep. 11th, 2012 05:48 pmToday we went to Strawberry Canyon Pool (Recreational Center) at UC Berkeley. It is this gorgeous pool on the way up into the Berkeley Hills on the edge of the UC Campus. Just stunning and it only costs 5.00 to get in. We stayed for a few hours. I mainly floated in the water - did a few laps and the water is warmed to 80 degrees. khylea swam a bunch. They had some floaty devices and it is nestled in the trees there. Just lovely. In keeping with our cheap, local vacation for the Bay Area. Hardly anyone there and so not crowded either. Really nice.
Then we had an early dinner at this reasonably new mac and cheese restaurant in Oakland called The Homeroom 510. I have been meaning to go here since it opened a year ago.

On a more serious note. I am fully aware it is 9/11/12 today. My thoughts are on that and the memories of that day. Prayers for those that we lost and all that we have been through as a country. I hope that we will find healing and tolerance. We will never forget but may we learn from the experience. Personally, I am glad Obama is ending our commitments overseas and the foreign wars relating to this. I don't think we should lose anymore lives over this. It is time to heal, time to remember, time to reflect.
