First Sentence (WIP)

Post the first sentence (or three) from every WIP you're currently working on, even if it's very short. Then invite people to ask questions about your WIPs. With any luck, the motivation to take that WIP one step closer to completion will appear... as if by magic!

From Two King's in Thranduil's Court:
"The King of the Greenwood observed his son’s interest in the Noldor history and wondered at it. Was it the tragedy of the tale or the act of absolute bravery Fingolfin displayed in fighting Morgoth in such a manner? Thranduil did not know. He, himself, thought the whole episode folly as he described the way in which the High King had perished under the foot of the foul evil being.
“And then he was carried off by the Great Eagle and the Dark Lord did not get him!”

I work on this when the spirit moves me but I really like the story. Fingolfin is reborn to Mirkwood/Greenwood and will play a vital role there. It will also be a romance between Fingolfin and Thranduil. They definitely have chemistry and I like improbable pairings.
Anyhoo, this one is stuck.
