Dallas (2012)
ep 3 - The Price You Pay
Summary: (from IMDB)
The story focuses on the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers JR and Bobby Ewing, who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance.
So we are three episodes into this and the plot thickens. Bobby is still his good self and JR and young JR go to the barber for a shave. Razor wielding JR senior solidifies his alliance with his son and vows to teach him all the things he needs to know. Good stuff here on the fraternal stuff. Everyone seems to want to move back to South Fork even though it is being sold, go figure. Conniving, manipulation and all that good stuff. Love triangle and a kiss caught on the cell phone. Anyways. I am hooked on this or will record it to watch when I have time. Cliff Barnes makes an appearance and they did not use enough make up on him. He looks terrible. The show is a little too geriatric almost but I guess they cannot help that with the aging actor thing. Bobby looks good but some people are not holding up well. I wonder if it would have been advised to feature the younger set and do cameos for the older generation. Wondering that now. Hot young actors are better for ratings. I do like the young JR actor - he seems driven and ambitious and he is easy on the eyes.
Anyways - just some thoughts as this continues. The plot is secondary to the back stabbing really. The good son made a break through on his alternative energy plan. That is good.
I like this I guess with some of the provisos above on what they could have done to make this more sellable.
IMDB for cast and credits:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1723760/Overall rating:
Melodrama and evil plotting. Pretty good.
Recommend:
If you like nighttime soaps. A little geriatric.
Warnings:
Back stabbing and people behaving badly!
