The story focuses on the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers JR and Bobby Ewing, who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance.

So this series is back but with the next generation of Ewings. We have rival cousins who might love the same girl and have competing interests in SouthFork ranch. We also still have the older generation, Bobby and JR Ewing still at each other too. Lots of conniving and maneuvering as everyone has an angle on the scene. Good stuff. There is an interesting plot on this oil drilling vs alternative energy thing going on. I found that kind of cool of them to modernize the show with that in there. Made it relevant. The good cousin is into alternative energy - yay!

I love the opening montage and how it evokes the original series - the music and the pictures. That was really good and a tribute to the first series. This is true nighttime soap opera. Everyone behaves badly, well maybe with the exception of Bobby Ewing - he is the one good person here. Anyhoo. I enjoyed this enough to watch both of the season opening episodes.

Overall rating:
Melodrama and evil plotting. Pretty good.

Recommend:
If you like nighttime soaps.
