Movie Review - Moneyball
Sep. 29th, 2011 09:45 pmSo I recently (last Sunday) saw the movie Moneyball and I want to strongly recommend this movie to all of you. You don't have to be a baseball fan to like this. It is about baseball but it is more about the determination of the Oakland A's General Manager to succeed against the odds. I don't watch baseball or go to games and I found this movie interesting from start to finish. This is the real story of how the Athletics took their meager budget and built a winning baseball team based on a system (that I won't explain or ruin the movie). Suffice to say it was a statistical analysis of player averages rather than traditional scouting techniques. The real story in this movie is Billy Beane and he is a compelling person and Brad Pitt is amazing playing the lead role. I really enjoyed his performance. Very interesting, inside look at baseball - interesting even if you don't follow the game. That's my opin.
Hope you will see it. Loved it. We also saw it in El Cerrito and it was a dinner movie theater and our food was served at our seats...fun place. I would go there again.
