Weekend update:
A good weekend so far. Friday night I went to dinner at my friends house and we had deep dish pizza brought from Zachary's, a local favorite. We hung out and talked about national politics and what not. That is always good for the digestion.
The topic of discussion was universal health care. My point was that anything that is remotely socialist in nature scares the bejesus out of Americans. This is all remnants of the Cold War and those communism phobias. We equate communism with socialism and all that. Never mind that there are forms of socialism working all over the world and cases of health care systems state provided that benefit the citizens of those countries greatly---Canada, Sweden, Britian...etc. We want our liberties...we don't want to pay for this. But do we care that people go without? I really hope that this will be implemented. It will be good for our country to think of the greater good for a change.
I have other plans this weekend. This morning I am getting my hair done and then going to visit a friend from work in Alameda for lunch. I have been trying to do that for a few years. Plans made and broken. So today, finally, I am going to see S** in Alameda. Tomorrow I have movie plans and we are going to see Gamer. I am really in the mood for an action flick so yay for that.
Hope you all are having a good weekend and enjoying the extra time. I really love long weekends. :)
