So I went back to my doctor yesterday as my face had reached elephantine proportions and I was itchy, so very itchy. I feared I had something contagious and was afraid to go out anywhere. So back to the doc I went. I love my little health practice which is right down the road. I call and they get in me within 30 minutes. They are great. I consult with real doctors for as much time as I need. Great.
So we figured this out. I am allergic to snails. The escargot. The fancy food. I have had them twice in my life and I had them last weekend at my brother's fancy birthday dinner at the Chop House and part of what I had here was a slow onset allergic reaction to the snails. Now I really like those but I can live without them. Nooooo problem. I am done with those, yessiree. So now I am taking all forms of allergy meds that are over the counter and alleviating the symptoms. The swelling is gradually going down. What I had was a case of hives from eating something I was allergic too. The doctor said what usually happens is the first time you eat something you are allergic to you don't show the reaction and then the next time whammy...you react. Your body builds up the antibodies or whatever. So no more snails for me. Oh well. I will just have salads for appetizers from now on. C'est la vie. Cheaper too. La.
So went out and did some pre-Crimmas shopping for next year. Fifty cent ornamentos, little tags for gifts and stuff like that. All on sale. I store til next year and try to remember I have this stuff. I have a system of containers so I do tend to use this stuff. I think I will try and hit Cost Plus today and see what they have. I get my office gifts at the end of season sales and save loads of money. Ya. Just store til next year. I cannot afford to pay full price for these things. Noooooooo way.
Writing mishigas, skip if you are not interested...
I have started my Valentine Swap story. I feel a little out of my element. It is a Third Age tale and I feel like that period was so well documented by Tolkien that I run the danger of rewriting the master. Best to not do that. I am writing out the draft and I think some serious editing will happen. I do have a story to tell here but I feel like I need to find it in the details.

I am going out to the movies tomorrow---to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. That should be interesting. We might also go see Marley and Me tonight.
But now, I must go run some errands. La. Hope everyone is well in the new year and thanks for your kind comments. I appreciate it.
