I asked [livejournal.com profile] chaotic_binky to select today's choice for us and she came up with some wonderful pictures. I am showing two of them. No credits but these are fun.

That last one looks teh yummeh, eh? Thank you for your help this week, Binky. I love what you found!

In other news...work last week was a ball buster, even with the extra day off in the middle for Veteran's Day. My co-worker is on an extended vacation and that means extra duty for me. Plus I have projects up the wazoo so I am BIZZY. I have to get our holiday party off the ground and I am researching locations in Korea. I have to do some of that work from home so I am logging comp time. That makes me happy. I like the extra time off. I also have to bill them for the long distance phone calls to Korea. I really do like getting the interesting projects so it is worth it to me to do this.

Personal life is quiet. My closest friend is sick so she is hanging low. I did laundry and some shopping yesterday. I really am boring this week. For graphics, I need to put up some offers. Last week I did some surprise offers that were really fun for me and I think went very well. I like doing all different graphics as opposed to all the same one. Had fun with that.

Cheers to all and have a good week this week. I want to do some Obama icons for our new prez. I should get on that. I am going to do that.

Why would people think it is okay to drum loudly from the park in a residential neighborhood on a Sunday night?! I think it is totally inconsiderate. I can hear this rhythmic drumming in every corner of my apartment. I am all for primal expression but not when I have to get up at 5am and when I want some peace and quiet in my house. This is coming right through my window.

So I call the non-emergency number and I tell the cop what is going on. I ask about noise ordinances and he says, "If it is loud enough that it is bothering you, then it is a problem." So thank goodness. IT IS LOUD. They are sending someone out to tell them to stop.

This is the city and that park is surrounded in a quadrangle by residential homes and apartments. I consider this noise pollution.

I want a vacation somewhere quiet. Up by a mountain lake. The city is so noisy. I want quiet and to hear the trees move and the night sounds of the crickets and the critters moving. This noise is driving me crazy.

I bought myself a machine that plays natural sounds and ocean sounds and what not to drown out the background noises around here but I tell you. I need to go somewhere quiet. I used to spend summers at our camp in Maine and I remember what that was like. Ocean sounds, forest and woods. Natural sounds.

This noise pollution is stressing me out.
