An update of a sort is in order. I have been very busy at work and getting a lot done. My co-worker is always going on about how much I get done there with a sense of wonder in it. I don't know..I just work and like to be busy. I keep good sight of what I need to get done.
It is interesting though. One person seems to have this impression that I am a slacker and no matter what I do, I cannot change that impression. She has even said it to other people. Now I keep my desk clear and I guess I don't have that overworked work space look to me like other people have. I cannot stand piles of work around me. I file things and keep it organized...so I think she thinks that I don't have enough work to do. She is always attempting to give me menial jobs to do when I am not in her reporting line. We had an issue with that this week that needed to be straightened out. I went to her admin and handed her the work and said..."you handle this". It had been a discussion previously and R*** knew just what I meant. She also straightened out her assumption that I was not busy. I sure as hell am. I juggle multiple projects and have many balls in the air at once. Her impression is just that...hers and not based on what is really happening. I have had other issues with her before and you know what? I am not having this.
So...*takes deep cleansing breathe* on to the good things.
I got one project done...get this...a month before the deadline for it. *score* I was project manager on a web site under development for the S**** Awards Program. I coordinate this every year and our idea was to set up a web site for it. I managed this project from start to finish. Meeting with the web designer, researching like web sites, putting together the outline, and pulling together the content...and so forth. I did not design the page as there is a web master in place but I feel like this baby is MINE. Woo. I would show you all but my contact info is on there and I have to keep that off this forum. Suffice to say it looks good, clean, organized and very profession. I am very pleased. The finishing touches are to go on there. Picture galleries and front page photo and we are DONE. Woot.
I have a new project that fell in my lap...Conversations with the *** ***. Student oriented meetings for our top person to meet with grad students once a month in an informal setting. I have started going on this and scheduled the first one for the end of October. I am getting the lists pulled and working on the food thing now.
I have other events popping but I am getting tired of typing. So bizzy izzy and things are good.
This weekend I have things to do and a bit of relaxation planned. Today is laundry day and I just had my shower fixed by E****, my fix-it dude. New shower massage thing put in there. Very happy about that. I am hoping that will help with my back tension.
Long entry. Better stop. Cheers to you and happy fall. We had our first bit of drizzle yesterday. Bring on the rain. I am so ready for that.
