Overview: Sukkot basically commemorates the period of time after the Jews left Egypt and escaped slavery. They wandered in the desert and had to live in temporary dwellings or
sukkahs. In observance of this, Jews recreate the structure and dwell in it.
The holiday actually started at sundown last night. My neighbors here are building a sukkah in our yard. *bouncey*. How exciting.
