So I am sitting here at work and the monitor starts to shake and then the walls get those little ripples. I suddenly realize we are having an earthquake. A minor one, but an earthquake nonetheless.

Shake, rattle and roll.

My mortality flashed in front of my eyes. Someone screams and we all think about diving into doorways or under our desks.

Then it is over.

Why do I live here?

There used to be an ad campaign put out by the city of SF or somebody that went something like....

"There are 3 million people living along and active fault line. This must be a great city..."

I don't know. Everytime one of these little ones hits I question the sanity in living here.

****UPDATE****

Now it is time for the major FREAK OUT. We just had a bigger one. Just now. I cannot begin to tell you what is going through my mind as I sit here. More screams. Why am I on LJ? I have no frigging clue!!!

*signs off*

***ONE MORE UPDATE***

We are still here and fine. Appears that there are no more quakes. These were centered in Orinda....a very high class suburb of Berkeley. Over the hills and through the tunnel. Due east of here.

The first shake was a 2.8.
The second was a 3.4.

No big deal but they felt a lot worse than that. I feel queasy. No one is getting anything done right now.

We have been instructed to keep working. Heh. *rolls eyes*

I was sitting here tonight and we had another shaker. This is so bizarre. That is three earthquakes in one day. This one was about the magnitude of the second one we had today. Felt just over a 3.0. I was just sipping my soda and trolling for elf pics and there it was.....that *rumble* followed by the shake....

My cat is giving me a funny look like WTF????

I am so outta here.
