So I have made it back to California all safe and sound. It is raining and it is much warmer here. I am jet lagged and had a weird night's sleep last night. My cat was very glad to see me and would not leave me alone and I tossed and turned all night. I finally just got out of bed at 5am, giving up on the idea of sleeping. Made myself a cup of java and decided to update my elf charries and look at journals and the like. You have all been a busy lot. Much to read!

It went swimmingly. My journey started with a private limo ride from Manchester, NH directly to Logan Airport in Boston. It was a Lincoln Town car or something like that and the driver was friendly and very careful. It was a smooth and comfortable ride down the highway to the terminal. I got there with loads of time to spare, there was no line to check and and security was a breeze. I love Logan.

I love United Airlines. My flight left on time, the staff is efficient and the plane was clean and the seats are a little bigger than other airlines. I sat next to two lovely people. One woman from Alaska and one guy from Maine. They were both visiting family on the East Coast and heading back West after the holidays. We all walked the whole time which made the trip so much more bearable. They were so nice. I brought my own food and partook of the complimentary beverage. Did you know they charge for the food on flights now? I am shocked and appalled by this. Soon they will be charging for the in flight beverage. It is sacrilege! What is this country coming too. Some things are sacrosanct. Or should be anyway.

So I get to Denver and this is where, if anything can go wrong it will. I have a two hour layover so I am not terribly worried and my flight was 10 minutes EARLY. I will say it again....I LOVE UNITED. The only hitch in the day was that the computers were down and they had to check people in manually. This did not affect me since I had checked for my whole trip and had my seating assignment. My only beef with the Denver airport is that no one sells kitchsy refrigerator magnets there. I have quite a collection going and was able to get one in Vegas. I try to buy one in every city I get to even if I only hit the airport. There were none in Denver and I did not want a shot glass, no thank you!

So I hung out at the gate and eat a pizza and get a lovely vanilla tea and kibbitz with a few other people on the flight. Someone is nice enough to share their McDonald's french fries with me and we have a grand old time. I get to be one of the first people to board the plane which I love and settle in for a snooze. The plane left late due to the computer glitch so we arrive 30 minutes late into Oakland. I am just happy to get there the same day. We had to wait 40 minutes for the luggage but nothing could mar my mood. I almost kissed the ground as I walked into the Oakland Terminal.

I treated myself to a cab ride direct from the airport, stopped for provisions on my way home and was greeted by a very affectionate cat when I walked in the door.
