Wish I could talk to the trees....
Aug. 20th, 2005 08:53 pmSpent a lovely day today.
Woke up verra early. 7:00 am. WTF! Had my morning brew and did some things around the house. Went back to sleep for a while and like a slug ended up getting up again around noon. Back to my usual self. Heh.
Then some friends called and we ran errands together...like food shopping, pet store and coffee shop. It is so much better doing that with friends. We joked the whole time.
Then we were inspired by nature and decided to go to Tilden Regional Park which is this incredibly beautiful nature area nestled in the Berkeley hills. This reminds me of why I love California. We have the nature thing going on. We took a long hike through the woods and I found myself wishing that I was an elf and could commune with the trees. How amazing would that be, huh? We also saw some animals on the way too...a lovely duck in a pond, a turtle on a rock and lots of fish in this totally picturesque lake. There was also a farm there so we saw goats, cows and pigs. At the end we saw a herd of wild turkeys running like crazy through the fields. I did not know turkeys travelled in herds. Amazing.
All in all it was a good day.
Tomorrow I am going for mexican food with my friend
kimberly_a. I am really looking forward to it. Not just the food...she is excellent company. We are going to walk a few times this week as well. I am glad that we are spending time together. It is fun to have someone to hang out with.
Cheers to you all and enjoy the weekend. It goes far too quickly.
