I am a total failure.....
Aug. 7th, 2005 10:06 pmI did not get any cleaning done today. But I did manage to have a fabulous time doing other things. I went to a friends house and hung out with some young kids. I love hanging out with kids. They say the most hilarious things. Then my friend Julie and I looked at each other and said, "I'm bored...". So we tried to figure out ways to alleviate the boredom while her fiancee Michael hung a ham radio antenna up on the roof of their house. They have many antennas on the roof of their house. We sipped coffee on the deck, we chatted about the typical things like vacations and holidays and about not wanting to go back to work on Monday....stuff like that. That all got boring really fast. We did not talk about the weather which is perfect in sunny California. It was in fact a lovely day. Nuff said.
So then we decided we should do something to get out of the house. Perhaps have the potential to purchase items, eat food or see a movie. We ended up doing all of those things. We went to lunch, went shopping at Target and then went to an evening movie. It turned into a frabjous day. The movie pic was War of the Worlds. Not exactly like the book but was a good interpretation of it set in the USA. I liked it. Lots of action and buildings falling down and people getting vaporized. Worked for me. If you have read the classic the ultimate conclusion is the same. So no worries about the ending not being the same or anything like that. It was a fair treatment of a classic story.
Now I am up far too late and not even feeling tired. Think I will look for a new LOTR fan fiction story to read before I go to bed. I am a total addict when it comes to fanfic. I cannot help myself now. I blame Khylea for this. Her site was the first site I started reading. So if she is reading this....thanks. Thanks a lot. :) I am even thinking of starting to write some. I can only blame myself if I start writing. And it won't be pretty. I am not sure of my talents. They are as of yet, untested.
So I have blathered on long enough. That is all for now. I am no where near ready for sleep yet.
