Hey hey hey...

So I was supposed to go out tonight - but I am not feeling well - some intestinal bug - and so I had to cancel my plans for tonight. I had fun plans. I was going to go out for burgers with friends and go see this movie Chef. The movie is about a gourmet chef who through some missteps ends up running his own food truck. It looked charming and kind of fun. I really wanted to see it. Anyhoo. I will get to that when I am feeling better.

Tomorrow, I have plans to go comic book shopping and to see Edge of Tomorrow - the latest sci fi epic with Tom Cruise. I bought tickets already so I hope I feel better. I am going no matter what I guess. I have IMAX tickets and those are spendy.

I got some over the counter remedy to see if that stops some of the symptoms. Will see how that goes.

I am personally crushed that California Chrome (race horse) did not win today (The Belmont Stakes) and so lost his chance at the Triple Crown. I was kind of excited about that. Anyways. Bummer there.

Not much is new here. Work is calm - summers are great at the Uni - less students, more time to get things organized and do background projects. The pace is slower and there are no lines at lunch. So that is all fun. I am trying to plan some vacations coming up. Might go to Portland the end of July. Do a staycation here some week and then save time to help my parents move coming up in the Fall.

That is about it. Hope all is well with you where you are. Cheers!

Hello - I say

Here I am - sick on a Friday. I have got a small cold here and I stayed home to get better. I am watching episodes of Chopped on the TV, talking to my mom and sniffling. This week I had a Board Meeting at work that went well and now I am done on events for a while. I have some fun events to plan for the summer for staff but that will be easy.

Tonight I am having a friend over and we are watching Frozen. I have not seen that yet. Excited about that!

Anyhoo. Hope all is well with you.

Hey hey

So I have been sick all weekend and stayed home from work today. Really sick, tired and miserable. Cold, sore throat and aches. My cough got really deep today so I went to the doctor. I was worried that it was in the lungs. My mom nagged me too - so I went. The doc prescribed antibiotics so I guess I have something. Sigh. I spent today sleeping and snuggling with Sir Theodore of Derby Manor and listening to my audible book. I just finished the Divergent series which was a fun listen.

So that is me. I am still really tired and symptomatic so I think I am going to stay home from work tomorrow unless something miraculous happens and I am well tomorrow.

That is me. Trala.

I won't be sick....

I am fighting being sick with everything I have. I have a sore throat and aches and am feeling run down. I had to go into work today to do a lunch event and then came home early. I got provisions on the way home - soup and crackers and homeopathic immune support remedies to blast this illness away. Nuking it from orbit - it is the only way to be sure.

I won't be sick.
I won't be sick.
I won't be sick.

Clicking my heels together.

Saturday Afternoon Post...

Well here I am. I am trying to post more consistently or every few days. I felt a sense of accomplishment yesterday because I was able to work a full day. I exhausted myself but I worked the whole day. I am still dealing with being sick.

I am contemplating getting a second cat here to keep Sir Theodore company. That is a maybe but I wonder if he is bored on his own and if he would like a friend. I don't know on that and it does double all my expenses. I have to think on it. I used to always have cats in pairs and think it is nice for them to have each other. So there is that. But it is more work etc so there is that. I guess if I see a gato that might make a good companion for Mr. Ted - I could think on that.

So tonight I am going to see The Great Gatsby. I have concerns about the music in the film being rap music - seems to be a disconnect on that. But I will go with an open mind.

I want to get my nails done but don't feel like going to a salon. I just want them to look nice but don't want to go through all that. I guess I really don't feel well if I don't want a mani-pedi. Gasp.

Anyhoo. This is me. Hope you all are having a good weekend and all that.

Post holiday blah de blah....

Well I am sick. Sore throat, achey yech. I was hoping it would miraculously go away by today and I have been sick since Friday night, Saturday morning but no dice. I stayed home today. I don't believe in infecting co-workers and really hate when people come in when sick. I am handling essentials here and resting. I don't feel well and why spread my germs all over there? All the flu posters say stay home when you are sick.

I slept some and watched the special features on my Casino Royale dvd. I am loving Daniel Craig as James Bond. We caught up on Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale this weekend and just loved them. I heart me Daniel Craig as 007. I know people disagree but for me, he is my favorite Bond so far. I grew up with Roger Moore and Sean Connery, I know, I know but I like this interpretation. Everyone has an opinion on that, legitimately but I like this one.

My friend is still here and is leaving tomorrow. We have had a fun time chilling and relaxing this week. She took off and went on a tour of Alcatraz today and is doing some things in SF. Sight seeing. Always good to do here. I am planning to go visit here in Vegas in January or February. Tres excited about that! Woot.

So hope all is well with you there and that you had a fun Thanksgiving holiday in the USA. I should put up my tree but don't feel well enough to wrestle it out of the closet. I will get to that this week.

Anyhoo. Post holiday post on in. Cheers to you all!

My latest purchase...

With amazon dollars...

I got myself a Keurig coffee maker. I am super happy with it and it is so easy to use. No more coffee grounds all over the counter...no more fumbling around. No more coffee coordination and kettle. Snap the thing in there and brew the one cup that I need in the morning. Way to brew. Upon the sage counsel of aglarien1 who also has one. It really is a snap and in the morning, I need my coffee to be easy.

Anyhoo. I am still under the weather and tired. Fighting off the plague that is effecting everyone at work. This is the problem with where I work. Large government public building and exposure to all sorts of germs etc. I feel like we keep passing illness back and forth at the office so uggles. Constant headache and aches. I am dragging.

Taking it day by day.

Resting is harder than one might think...

So I am a bit better but still am sick - congested and so so tired. I managed to drag myself to work for part of the day yesterday and get my projects into shape so I would take my vacation next week. I really did not want to have to go into work next week. I wanted the whole week off and all that free time. But really - that partial day of work knocked me out and lay me flat. I got a bit worried and went in to see the doctor today just to be sure I did not have some walking form of pneumonia or bronchial thing happening. I just wanted her to listen to my lungs and tell me all was clear. She did and all is clear. She said I just need to rest and gave me some good suggestions on over the counter things to do - hydrate, regular Robitussun and Tylenol. Low tech and very do-able.

This rest thing is not easy for me. I find I have trouble just doing that and am used to doing things. I guess I have an active mind or am hyper-active. Doing nothing is not so easy.

So that is what is going on. Trying to do nothing and rest. Sipping tea and watching Law and Order reruns on the television. Turning down invitations to do things. I don't have a clear idea of what is going on for Thanksgiving. Some sort of food but the menu has not come together yet. We might come up with a non-turkey plan (gasp).

Anyhoo. Hope you are well and having a good weekend. Cheers to you and yours.

Sick and miserables...

Sore throat, fever and aches. I am sick, sick I say. I feel miserable. Could not really sleep today - in that state of really tired but could not sleep. I am posting in a shameless bid for sympathetic comments. Meh. I had to stay home today and will see how I feel in the morning. I don't feel like I made any progress on getting better really.

Uggles.

The selection this week!

Here is Richard Pierce from the Randy Blue site (as posted on We Love Nudes) with all due credit. Ha.

*Not safe for work*

Here he is! )

I am under the weather and feeling achy, flu (ish) sick this weekend. Not doing much of anything but resting here. All bets are off and I guess that is the best thing to do. I had movie plans that I have had to cancel and am laying low. Good things on my Dish so am keeping entertained. I find I can nap as much as I want so I am sleeping a lot and hanging out here. Sometimes that is what you have to do, eh? Making some Fall graphics too.

Doing some beta work and enjoying that a lot. Good stories coming up for Ardor in August. I hope that you will enjoy those.

Cheers to all and to all a good weekend.

Hand stand, Update and Slashy Valentine!

I love this picture and this pose. It is really fun! Here I am with today's bunday pic.

*Not safe for work!*

Hand stand this way... )

In other news...
I am on the mend but this flu has held on longer than I thought it would or should. Le grippe. I went back to work on Thursday but still felt tired and sick. I finally got out and took an exercise walk on Saturday and while it was difficult, it felt good to be out in the sun and moving. I am ready to move on from being ill and so I will.

Green Hornet review. I loved this movie...it entertained on many levels, lots of cool car stuff and Kato as the side kick, mechanic and integral part of the team did not disappoint. I really like Seth Rogen in this movie as the millionaire, newspaper owner's son playboy type who discovers his ethical center. And Cameron Diaz who I usually cannot stand was fun here as the gorgeous brainiac. Very fun, very camp and lots of green in it. The cars were retro and fun. I have to say a word about the end credits...if you see this in 3D be sure to keep your glasses on for the whole end of the movie. The end credits are very visually interesting and WOW. They pop out of the screen and are graphically designed to be ZOWIE. Just wanted to let you know that. Anyways...I really recommend this movie as good solid entertainment and for the laugh factor. Also--the villain gives a subtle performance which is very amusing. It all works for me.

The joy of the long weekend is evident in that I am not having my usual Sunday melancholy set in. I have a wide open Monday. I might go for another walk today and cook a nice dinner tonight.

A word on my Slashy Valentine--major work going on there. My beta, the very clever [livejournal.com profile] keiliss has given me some sound advice and my story is going to be retooled and used for other purposes. I am going to start ANOTHER story for this swap and hope to pull one out for this rather quickly. Fear not, I am happy about this turn of events as the story I wrote will work better for other things but now I have to get back to the drawing board on this one. More on this as it develops. Huzzah! Not done yet!

Cheers to all and have a great rest of your (long) weekend (USA).

Ugh .. fighting off a cold...

I am fighting off a cold with all my guns blazing. I have my throat coat tea, cough drops, echinacea drops with chinese herbs along with vitamin C. *blam* I am going to get better. I wills! I wills!

I really hate having a sore throat. That is the thing I cannot stand. The only good thing about being sick is you get to stay in your jammies all day. That can be fun and I am watching my DVR stuff. Right now, morning reruns of Supernatural but Law and Order is a fave.

Thanks for commiserating. I will get better! I will rally! Tirrah! Send some positive vibes my way - a little healing mojo.

Super Sunday!

In honor of the Super Bowl today, I am posting one of the French football players from Dieux du Stade 2010 (Gods of the Stadium). I have these as file photos and just think it is fitting somehow. I would love to have some nekkid American football players. Heh. Somehow I don't think they are as uninhibited as their French counterparts on the rugby team over there. No sirree. These boys are so great. And they have a HUGE gay culture following. They are all over the gay blogs.

Anyhoo. Here is today's selection. Mr March. So beautiful. The buns are slightly obscured but we can fill in that blank. I just loved this pic.

Oh mon dieux! )

In other news...
Plans have officially been cancelled for my Super Bowl thing today. I was going to go to friends house to watch and enjoy the advertising bonanza today and I will just have to watch here and rest some more. I woke up sicker today. This just has to run its course. A cold, is a cold, is a cold. I got provisions, more echinacea tea and ibu and food to last me for a few days. Laundry will wait and I am skipping the farmer's market. I have enough produce to last me until the Berkeley Market on Tuesday. My bases are covered.

Thanks to my flist for all the great get well comments on my last post. I really appreciate all the love! You guys rock. *hugs all around*

My cat is happy that I am here. I think she likes it when I stay put.

Information for those not wanting to watch football today. Animal Planet is airing the Puppy Bowl. I think that is cute games with puppies or some such. So check that out if the big game is not your thing. :P I may have to click on that for a little cute nog action.

I am hoping I can go to work tomorrow. I think I will have to MAKE myself go. I have too much going on there to miss. Coverage is thin and my projects won't wait. Maybe a short day.

Cheers to all and happy Sunday!

In other news:

I am sick and resting this weekend. All bets are off for the Super Bowl tomorrow. I had plans but might have to cancel those depending on how I feel. I did a few errands today that I had to and then slept some and have been here resting. Have no tissues so I am using a roll of TP. How pathetic. Gah. People at work were sick and now, so am I. And I had BOTH flu shots. What good are they?

Cheers to all and hope you are doing well. Better than me anyways.

So...

I was walking outside at an open air Arts and Craft Fair in Oakland, CA today and I felt the creeping aches and flu-like symptoms begin to take hold. Aches in the neck, fever...ACK. I am getting sick. I am home again to take a nap and see if I can fight this off. Wah.

File photo's for Bunday today.

Bare repeating... :P )

Taking a nap now. Enjoy.
