Cool beans...
I met a comic book artist - Babs Tarr - yesterday at my local comic book store - in Berkeley - (shout out to The Escapist on Claremont!). She is very cool and she is the artist for the latest Batgirl run at DC Comics. I have been really getting into comic books lately. I have been reading Dr. Strange, Black Widow, The Walking Dead and some others. A newbie really but it is fun and the art is really cool. Here is a cover from Babs Tarr on the Batgirl run. She animated this on her blog.

In other news - I got some Christmas shopping done yesterday and of course I bought myself some stuff. One for them - one for me kind of thing. I did not blow my budget and I just have one gift card left to get and then I think I am done for the season. I have presents under my tree which is cool.
While I was Christmas shopping in the Elmwood District of Berkeley - a protest rolled right in there and blocked up the area. They were really pretty cool about it and did not take up any side walk space - they were just in the street and their goal was to tie up the intersection which they did. My car got trapped by two buses but it was liberated by the time I really had to go and get to the artist thing I wanted to go to. So that was cool. I could keep shopping and enjoy the civil unrest. Works for me. It was part of the nationwide protest yesterday.
Anyhoo. Work is winding down and I am finishing up projects for the year. I am kind of done and want to be finished. I don't finish up really until Dec 23. So that will go on for a while.
khylea comes in on the 25th so that is cool.
Can you guys believe The Hobbit comes out next week? Hurrah! I am going the first night, I think. I cannot wait. Yays! And then it will be over and I will be sad.
Anyhoo. That is all I have. I am trying to post more often. Doing ok with that. I love comments. So comment here and I will respond!

"...enjoy the civil unrest..." heh heh... I like that!
You know the wind storm we had on Thursday? A huge tree fell on a power line next to the church and all the electricity was out Thursday night and most of Friday. All the meetings and my rehearsals were canceled and a funeral had to be moved to the Westside Chapel at the last minute. I was secretly hoping just the church would be out for the rest of the weekend but Puget Power was johnny on the spot ;)
We are going to The Hobbit on New Year's Eve as we have the last 2 years! It's a wonderful time to do it - and we have the theatre to ourselves, Yay!

The protests were very cool actually. I really liked how they conducted themselves.
Too bad the power came back on. You could have used some time off!
That sounds like a great plan for The Hobbit. I am going this week and then a few times more. I will have to see it a few times. :) I love the movies. I am really kind of sad they will be over.

We want to see the Hobbit, but it will be after Christmas. Retail is hell right around Christmas, so no time off til then.

I really like how she's animated that cover, it's very cool. I used to love Batgirl back in the day - just seeing that picture brings back memories. Glad you're enjoying that whole world -- I was never into Doctor Strange, but - Black Widow FOREVER!
The Hobbit is out here already - we got the British release dates - but I don't know if I want to rush and see it. I mean, it's the last one. Might be nice to make it last. Need to see when R wants to fit it in. I'm enjoying the reviews though, haven't seen a bad one so far.

I love how that looks with the animation. Very fun. The Doctor Strange was very interesting. I was not familiar with him but saw a complete set of a story so got that. I liked it a lot. I love Black Widow. She rocks.
I am really kind of sad about the end of The Hobbit. It is our last movie in this world really. That does make me kind of sad. I am sure I will see it a few times in the theatre. I will have to look up some reviews.
