Friday...

I am in a weird mood. We got word at work that one of our coworkers was eliminated. I guess that is the new way to fire someone. Their position was eliminated. So they take the action against his position and not him? Seems as though they fired him and that this is all a euphemism or round about way of terming it. He was a nice guy but no one was surprised - they gave him a few years to turn it around and he had not.

Anyways. Sobering here. I am glad it is the weekend.

Yes, if you eliminate the position, you can fire someone without addressing their personal performance, which may be just fine. I'm sorry - I sure hope he can find a new job soon.

I guess that is it. He is of retirement age so might opt for that.
