I loved the trailer, I thought it looked so intriguing, but my sister went and absolutely hated it and left the theater. So I was hesitant to go, but I had an opportunity and I'm glad I did.

I thought what they did with the music was very interesting, because they used modern music to sort of project the kind of wild/excessive/glamourous lifestyle that was the 1920s and jazz. People back then thought about jazz like people today thought about rap and hip-hop, rebellious and wild. So it really sort of illustrated the kind of life they were having relative to the times.

My only quibble was sometimes it seemed so fantastical with the CGI that it seemed a little divorced from reality - but on the other hand, this is Nick's memory, and it adds to the mood that I think Baz was intentionally creating.
